Re: First Tron:Uprising Trailer

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I can't wait.

Re: First Tron:Uprising Trailer

I'm surprised they're doing this with normal animation in terms of the characters. I was more expecting them to go the ReBoot route. Speaking of which, while the Tron movie franchise came first, as a weekly TV series they're going to have to watch out for the comparisons to ReBoot (the more-adult later seasons, I mean).

A new trailer has been released, and the show is set to premiere in June.

I'm startled by how jerky and ugly the animation is for this show. I was curious about the show, but having now seen the animation style, I think I may find it unwatchable.

Re: First Tron:Uprising Trailer

I really liked Tron: Legacy so I am looking forward this. I don't mind the art style, it is a little more abstract than a lot of the other shows out there, but I don't mind it. I don't get Disney HD though, so I'll have to wait for Netflix discs or streaming.

Re: First Tron:Uprising Trailer

That's Disney XD. It's not high-definition or anything, it's just a couple of letters that they thought would sound cool.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_XD
According to Gary Marsh, President of Entertainment for Disney Channel Worldwide, "XD" was chosen because it's an emoticon for laughter. Marsh notes that "the letter X has many cool associations" and that "the beauty of it is the audience can imbue it with all sorts of positive attributes." Coincidentally though, the name "Disney XD" was previously used as the name for an online media player and interactive web portal on the Disney.com website, which in that case stood for Disney Xtreme Digital.
