More detailing has been added. Comms, Alert lighting, a new lab table layout for the Chem lab are in place. Time for some sleep
Thank you, guys Me first lol Was starting to look into such endeavors a while back before things got a little crazy. Going to have to hire an agent and a lawyer at some point I have considered Unity; but, I'd planned texturing as a last step and have done very little texturing as a result. Right now it would require a change in direction to do it; but, it isn't like I haven't changed direction to keep going at this point. We'll see
As far as getting it into Unity (hope this isn't going off topic too much), as long as you've got UV maps, you could bake in the lighting, or don't use any textures at all and light it in Unity itself leaving the surfaces untextured and using Unity shaders. Would need to make sure that the polys are optimized as well. The quality of your work is too good to not be able to walk around in it!
Probably a few; but, most things are in the library computer; so, few is the key word. Most of the shelf spaces will be for test tubes and lab equipment of all sorts. Wildstar, 3Dbuzz has a fairly largish investment in training material for Unity. Definitely on my radar Latest update: Finished more of the equipment for the HEL and completed modding the gangways aft. I'm currently working up another batch of signage - specifically, the turbolift signs. Not certain there is space for one on deck2 after the bridge deck flooring is placed in scene; but, these will be needed moving forward; so, no time like the present. There are other signs I intend to make as well for the labs.. basic warning signs primarily. "if you're going to do X, notify security" sort of thing. lol Still a lot to do where deck 2 is concerned; but, nearing completion finally. And getting my creative wind back.
Wow, them's a lot of turbolifts! Of course in the series, did we ever see anything except Turbolift 7? Or what it Turbolift 2, they look very similar in that font!
Yeah, there were only a few lift areas shown. I went to counting the locations on the plans and was dumbfounded that the count exceeded 80. There are only probably a dozen lift cars on the ship; but, the signs are more ship location markers than car counters IMHO; so, yep. Thems a bunch a signs.. and what a pain to make lol.
When you get around to the machine shops / manufacturing in the engineering section it would be fun to see a "SIGN SHOP" sign
Builds like this really put it into perspective just how massive this ship truly is. I did an overhead image of the two rim decks on TMP-E, and put over 200 people just in their bunks and rec faciliities alone, with only about 75% of the available workable space used up, just on those two decks alone. But this really makes me appreciate the size even more!
It would be cool to have the prop with the long tubes with the red lights somewhere in the lab. First seen in Regula 1 but also showed up in TNG. http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/inconsistencies/props/tubes1-regula-startrek2.jpg A new piece of high technology?
...and "teased" in "Airplane 2" when Shatner as a lunar base commander complains the blinking should be in sync. Sincerely, Bill
