Trekbbs tells me what's done is DONE
The Lit forums tell me DON'T be a FOOL
Play the field, read lots of Trek
It's easy when Kirk and Picard and Riker are so cool.

I tell myself, don't settle for chumps
Who cares for them, let them stay away
That's when KingDaniel posts a cover photo and I JUMP
And as I grab my keyboard... I PRAY...

Let it please BE her... Oh dear Beyer
It MUST be her... It MUST be HER...
or I shall die, or I shall die.
Oh Hello, hello, my dear Beyer,
It MUST be her but its not her
And THEN I die, That's WHEN I die.

After awhile, I'm myself again
I take the pieces of Eternal Tide off the floor
Put my heart and Mosaics on the shelf again
Pocket Books won't hurt me anymore.

I'm not a puppet on a string,
I'll find somebody, some fanfic writer someday
That's when startrek.com sings, and ONCE again
I start to PRAY...

Let it please BE HER, oh dear Pocket Books
It MUST be HER, it MUST be HER
or I shall die, Or I shall die
OH hello, hello, my dear Pocket Books
It MUST be HER... It MUST be HER... It MUST BE HER!
This one is absolutely wonderful! I love the new lyrics!
A FAN!

I just hope we aren't crying in our beers next August!

Most of you know I'm not exactly the worlds biggest fan, but I do think her return is inevitable. This just seems too soon. I suspect this may be a 'guest spot' setting up a full return at a later date.

Kirsten will make whatever it is good...

Or is this going to be like ST:XII, still impossibly far away.

Re: Janeway returning to Trek Lit?

I know I should have read every single posting in this thread, but this is a novelisation involving Janeway, isn't it? It would be waaaay too much to ever expect our beloved Captain to tread the boards once more.

However, having said that, with Brent Spiner saying they'll probably redo Next Generation one day, who is to say there will never be a new Voyager series?

Here's hoping.

Re: Janeway returning to Trek Lit?

Yep, "Lit" is short for literature. An ambitious term at times.

I've only read a few of the Trek novelisations over the years. Some of them I've enjoyed. A couple have been average. One or two...well, anyway.

Yes, literature can enjoy many definitions.

Re: Janeway returning to Trek Lit?

Oh they are actual novels, new stories, not novelizations of episodes.

Some are quite good. Some are quite bad. But at least we have them.

Yes, it's interesting to see what people do with the characters. There are so many untold stories in Trek (it is, after all, a big universe).

What would you say is the 'best of the best' to read?

People, please don't read to much into this!!

First off, the novel is still a while away, so this could just be temp, or fake.

Second, in 2011 we a novel set in 2300 called Cast No Shadow. Spock was featured very prominently on the cover, but only had a tiny part in the actuall book. For all we know, Janeway's part will be in flashbacks, or a little supporting part.

Let's just wait and see what happens.

Yeah, well, from some TPTB's attitude re: KJ (that she was arrogant and "deserved" to die)
I'm not aware of a single author or editor at Pocket Books who thinks that Kathryn Janeway deserved to die for being arrogant. From where did you get this idea?
