SFX Sexiest Characters in SciFi and Fantasy

I only voted for the Girls. I thought I could vote for the guys if I just chose my favorite characters, but it does say Sexiest, and I didn't want to be ambiguous.

I didn't vote for the girls for the same reason.

for guys, though (tough choice), I put: Aragorn, McCoy, and then I wrote in Alpha from Dollhouse. He's really probably the top for me, even if he's not exactly a main character on the show.

The top pick for the men is painfully predictable, but the women's #1 is a surprise, a particularly nice (or not?) one for the Trekkies. Women's top 10 turned out to be a little bit more unpredictable than the men's.

The SFX people decided to make it more interesting by pairing up the top 100 sexiest women with top 100 sexiest men and examine how the pairing would work. It's quite amusing, because some couples turned out completely random, while others... made the staff write "we haven't fixed the poll, honest". I bet that taking a look at some of the pairings was what made them decide to do this whole 'love match' thing in the first place... Check out #67, #60, #7, and especially #5.

It is? I must be getting old, because I was astonished to see The Vampire Diaries/Supernatural dominate the top ten like that. Kids nowadays! Anyway Spock would kick Damon's butt for trying to move in on Uhura. And thus a million bad fanfics were born...

I honestly thought the "predictable" male choice would be Han Solo or Fox Mulder. Maybe John Crichton.

Ha, you really haven't been keeping up with online fandoms nowadays

I was pretty much resigned to either Damon or Dean Winchester winning this one. Virtually every online poll lately has been won by Supernatural or The Vampire Diaries. Which is pretty frustrating since I don't watch Supernatural and I find The Vampire Diaries meh. But there's no beating those fandoms. Damon from TVD won this year's SFX Greatest Vampires poll (with TVD characters dominating the top 10), Supernatural won every category it was nominated in in the recent zap2zit Most Crushworthy Characters polls, and Supernatural is now up against Buffy in the finale E!Online Ultimate Fan Battle. Buffy has proved to have remarkable staying power since it still sneaks in and competes with the super-popular current fandoms.

I've seen the craaaazy TVD vs Supernatural stuff on eonline, but I thought it was just because eonline is an all-girl's club over there. I guess it's expanding to take over all of online fandom. TrekBBS may be the last holdout? Anyway I'm more a Stelena advocate so I'm afraid even to show my face in that place. When Damon and Elena finally have sex, we'll all know it because the Delena hordes will break the internet that day.

I've seen some of craziness on a group on facebook, as I saw the results this morning. Only looked at the top 30, but cracked up at number 5. Reading the whole list now. I was kinder lazy to vote.
