The 'multicolored lights set inside a frame that's the size of a cargo drum' is just his core intelligence module. The first spider-body is built around that from recycled starship parts (but with a 'patchwork' rather than 'scrapyard' kind of look, I felt) and the second spider-body ("My droneframe has been upgraded") is a lot more smooth, kinda iMac styling. I imagined White-Blue - in fact, all of the Sentries - in a very anime mecha style, drawing influence from my favourite artists like Masamune Shirow, Kenichi Sonoda and Shoji Kawamori...
