Re: TNG moments that made you want to cry(or did)
In addition to most of the moments others have mentioned: The son's naming ceremony in "The Inner Light": it made Picard's life there so much more real to me. Picard and Daren in the jeffreys tube in "Lessons": between the music and the kiss...

Re: TNG moments that made you want to cry(or did)
Allow me to add Tasha's funeral scene in Skin of Evil. I first saw this at a rather young age. I had been spoiled, and the scene, while adequate, didn't do much for me. This is not an episode I revisit regularly, but I find myself more saddened by it with each viewing and today consider it quite moving. Denise Crosby did very well with what she was given here, and Data and Picard's reflections on her passing are perfectly handled. Ron Jones' music for the scene is also particularly moving and effective.

The realization by the Romulan defector that he was set up. In that episode, when he tells Picard how he looks in his daughter's eyes and realizes he must change the world for her. |

And the same for "Chain of Command" and the five lights dialogue at the end of the episode. I am a huge fan of Picard so I have invested a lot of emotion into the character. |

Re: TNG moments that made you want to cry(or did)
I have to say though, I can think of a lot more moments in DS9 than I can in TNG. |
