The studio probably thinks that most people have no idea * what uncanny means so they won't use it.

I'm not surprised...we just got "The Amazing Spider-Man" for the reboot film, fans have been wanting these films and others to use the comic titles, and move producers or whoever seem to be against using them for whatever reason.

that was my idea back when X3 came out.

But you need to have the Fantastic Four find Jean Grey's body in stasis at the bottom of Alkali Lake in their new reboot movie (that would make a good post-credits scene

On a serious point though, I think its too late for an X4 to happen. It won't be made while they're still doing the "prequel trilogy" which will end when? Let's say 2013-14 for Second Class? 2017 for Third Class.

So after that? 2020?

Way too much time will have passed for the original actors to reprise their roles effectively. Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellan would be nearly 80, Shawn Ashmore 40ish, Famke Janssen 50ish, Hugh Jackman 50+ etc. It won't happen.

Unless they recast them all, and in that case what's the point, you may as well just 100% reboot it all

I said back early in this thread that we might get an announcement on a X4 sometime this year...but now that a sequel has been confirmed for First Class, maybe they're finally putting it on hold or not considering it any more.

Honestly, at this point I'd rather see them just make the the First Class series a true reboot and introduce new versions of the main characters from the fist three movies.

I don't think this will happen consider FOX's factory machine mentality towards the "X-men" movies

But

I would like the character focus/spotlight to be worked on.

We all saw in the original trilogy how Wolverine and Storm stole the focus

And then "Wolverine" dropped so many cameos that you barely connected with the characters

And then "First Class" with Banshee

So many people seem to be disappointed with X3 that the producers probably think X4 would be a failed cause. If first class was a huge success why go back and pick up after an older story noone liked?
