This is fantastic news. Bryan Singer is back as producer, too.

Awesome! I hope they're going to take their time with this one. The Wolverine in 2013 followed by First Class II in 2014 sounds pretty good to me.

WIN!!!
First Class 2
So that means the only comic film from summer '11 to not get a sequel was...oh, the DC one.

Great news about the sequel. I was reasonably sure we'd get some sort of follow-up but was beginning to worry that it wouldn't be (a) a sequel to FC or (b) period-set. So delighted those worries were for nowt!

I'm hopeful for the sequel!

Now we just have to worry about the third movie curse.

I hope Daniel Craig(Layer Cake) gets role

Not if you look at the X-movies as one big story, rather than three separate ones. In the case of the former, a presumptive FC3 would be at least the eighth movie.

Awesome. I just wish we didn't have to wait so long, but I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it.

It's only next summer.

Also the movie is on the same fast track as "First Class"

McAvoy was cast around May 27th 2010

The movie was released in June 2011.

I strongly remember the worry about only having a year or so to prepare a movie.

I don't think Fox would release two X-movies in the same year, unless one was during the summer and the other during the winter.

It didn't seem to hurt 'Thor' or 'Captain America' being so close to each other last summer. -shrug- who knows.

Not sure which character he could play but an older Brian Braddock/ Captain Britain, comes to mind.

Re: X-MEN: FIRST CLASS - Grading+Discussion **SPOILERS!**

I hope Jane Goldman comes back to work on the script. I don't trust Simon Kinberg. I have a feeling that Vaughn and Goldman will touch up the script somewhat. Daniel Craig would be an excellent Captain Britain. Don't see it happening though...I think when Jackson Archer and I discussed a release date he said May 2013...he can correct me if I'm wrong. I argued that Fox won't put this up against "Man of Steel" which comes out in June. May is fine but it will be up against "Iron Man 3" if that is the case. I think I said something like 2014 lol. I don't see the problem with Fox having two or three Marvel superhero films out next year, if one assumes that "The Wolverine" actually starts filming soon, and the other film is the "Daredevil" reboot.

^ Goldman and Vaughn seem to work together quite regularly. I'd be extremely surprised if he didn't at least get her to touch up Kinberg's script. Remember how many writers were supposed to have written the last movie?
