I think it's appreciated. It's just you are probably the most invested member into the doff system.
I myself use it as a distraction between missions and rarely go out of my way for doffs, since I have the specialist I want on my activ roster.
Some of them already purple thanks to the tribble test weeks.
Most of them could be upped in quality.
I won't spoil it for myself by playing to excessively, since I believe it's meant to be a long term game component and not a grind to the top in two weeks system.

That way it will still be fresh enough when they update it and integrate it more into other parts of the game.

I suspect it will tie in with the upcoming crafting changes.

I also suggested on the STO forum to heal up injuries on ship and crew with doff assignments.

it's practical things like this that I am interested in, less in playing it for it's own sake.

One DOFF that's missing is the Emergency Medical Hologram. They can be used in a space slot to heal crew.

My VA doesn't use the DOFF system much except to pick up additional dilithium. Once my characters has the DOFFs they need for their space and ground slots, they'll slack off also. I'll just run a few DOFF assignments as a residual source of dilithium.

I was extremely happy with the rewards for participating on the Tribble Test Server. I received all of the available bonus items. The only sad part was that I could not keep all the cool DOFFs that I had collected. :-P

Although there are some DOFF chain assignments, I think the system could be made more interesting. Perhaps succeeding in some DOFF assignments would open up special missions for your character.

One nice benefits of the DOFF system is the ability to recruit Bridge Officers. My characters have received several purple BO's and a couple of green saurians with the efficient skill. Some of the BO's find their way in my character's bridge or away team. On that note, if anyone in the fleet need BO's just send me a note with your needs. I often refuse or sell BO's just to make room for additional ones. Strangely, I sometimes find BO's in my character's inventory. I tried putting some into the fleet bank but that didn't work.

Can someone give me a quick rundown of Doffs? What to look for in officers and assignments for example. (I'm assuming "Rare" or "Very Rare" assignments are a must.)

I cleaned up the bank a bit. Please make sure to put any items in the correct deposits, someone looking for rare particle traces won't find them, if they are in Food and Drink or Rare Ship Weapons. ;)

You can stack data samples up to 250 in a single slot.

I already did so ingame, but welcome back to our formerly lost sheep. looking forward to playing with you again.

To get ready for a possible influx of totally new players next week you can now apply for an adjutant (formerly officer) position.
Please give us a brief description what responsibility you would like to take.
the goal is to have sort of department heads for PvP, Crafting, Raiding( STF/Fleet Action), etc...
You should be online and in game regularly to answer questions of other members, help with leveling and questing and if possible organize events and animate members to participate in them.

Yeah, the bank's my fault... I stuffed a load of things in there and couldn't be bothered to work out where to stack 'em. (My eyesight means it's not easy to tell the icons apart.)

It'll take me some time to get my crafting score up, not to mention materials. But I love doing stuff like that. Also, when we get the new players, if they need help going through missions (although it seems like it's gotten easier in the year I've been gone) I'm happy to help there too. It feels so good to be back.

The only thing I dont like, I cant play with the forge :( I was so very much looking forward to that.

Silver players can use the foundry. playing the missions is open to everyone and if you wanan create your own missions I believe one slot is free and you can buy more with dilithium.

It tells me I can't. I tried for the daily Investigate Officer Reports mission, and it says it's not available. To quote: Silver accounts may not access Community Authored missions.

Hm possibly because the old "silver" accounts were promotional and had indeed no access. Wait for official FTP launch... should be different then.
    If not, file a ticket.

If I do, you are welcome to have it. Do me a favor and send a note to @Rocketeer_7 and I'll see what I have. I don't play the game from this computer.

I started working on an info sheet but discovered that people smarter than me have already documented a tremendous amount of info. Rather than re-invent the wheel, I'll point you in that direction. Then if you have any questions about that info, I'll do my best to answer them. I can also share with you my opinions and personal choices that I make regarding the DOFF system.

First you should visit the DOFF system discussion in the official STO Forum. You will also see links to other good sources of info. One that you will need to bookmark is the STO Wiki.

    Here's what I focus on:
All characters focus on Diplomatic (FED) or Marauding (KDF) as that gives you transwarp capabilities as you gain commendation levels.
TAC officers - focus on Military assignments and obtaining Tactical and Security DOFFs,
ENGR officers - focus on Engineering assignments and obtaining Engineering and Operations DOFFs,
SCI officers - focus on Science, Medical and Exploration assignments and obtaining Science and Medical DOFFs.
To complement what I said above, I also chose assignments based on their rewards more than their rarity/color. It's up to you though.

You have 5 space slots and 5 ground slots that you can place your DOFFs. Pick DOFFs that will enhance your character's abilities. Any DOFF placed into one of these slots will become bound to your character.

You can use DOFFs at any rank; however, you will not receive your official starting kit (about 20 common and uncommon DOFFs) until you reach a certain level. If you need DOFFs to start, check the fleet bank as I sometimes drop packs there or send a note to @Rocketeer_7.

I've only been on for a few minutes the last few days. Been having some health issues plus helping daughter with a school project.

Hartzilla - I checked one Fed char and didn't see any Vulcans but I'll check the rest eventually. Fyi, I don't get many male Vulcans Bridge Officers. Most of the rewards seem to give female when it's a Vulcan. I assume that you're looking for a "Spock". I had one on Tribble.

For some reason the game keeps giving Fed Klingon colonists to my KDF characters. Someine has tagged them wrong. I'll put in a ticket later.

Ok, I'm having a problem with the Blood of the Empire mission. Specifically, when I go to where I'm supposed to protect J'mpok, he's not there. He is no where to be found. Did anyone else have this issue?

Edit: Never mind, it just took me a second to remember what the layout of the old map used to be, and to remember there's an upper level.

    Invite has been sent...

    Congratulations to Trek88 and Rocketeer.
Both form the first members of our new fleet staff.

While Trek88 returns to his dutys as fleet quartermaster and your goto guy for gear management, Rocketeer officially takes up the position of Doff System specialist.

I am still looking for PvP/Fleet Action/Event enthusiasts to fill in the rest of the vacant jobs.
So if you are on regularly and like team play feel free to apply.

I'd be willing too, like STFs, Fleet Actions, and maybe the Events. But I'd want to learn the STFs, since from what I've read here they've changed a little since I last played a year ago. And I haven't been in all the different events, so I need to learn them as well. Although the two I have done, Lore and particle traces, seem pretty simple.

If you guys haven't played it yet, I highly recommend the "A Will and a Barcley" foundry mission. It might be considered a little long, and a lot of reading, but I was laughing through the whole thing. And if anyone knows of some good ones, let me know cause I'd like to play them.
