Re: Star Ship AJAX Production

It's been a good week, first with the find of the new location and now a huge step forward.

With the warm weather we completed more painting than we had scheduled. A complete first coat is done on the entire bridge, it actually looks like a Starship now. We will finish the painting after the move.

My quick update video has been added to the Starship Ajax website on the progress page. It's well worth taking a look. A complete video and photos will be added by Tim to the Facebook page soon.

12/30/11 Update Vid

Edit, here is a download link. I made the mistake of posting this using microsoft's media player plugin which almost never works and I've already gotten several messages saying it failed again.

Download it here.

Added some screen caps.

SWEEEEEET!! Ya did it!!

So, the colors I picked for you are working well then. AWESOME! Looks like you just need a couple more curved pieces to put in over the viewscreen.

But, EXCELLENT JOB!!!

I only wish I coulda been there to help.....

We need to attach some catches on the very thin wood used on the curved pieces. It's too thin to hold staples or screws. We have been using liquid nail but the last few trys it didn't hold. I've never seen liquid nail just snap before, the wood always breaks first. I think it may be freezing before it drys and then doesn't cure.

And I wish you were here too. Could use some guidance.

Already working on a contract. The guy is not really making anything from this, it's more like it would be cool to have this in my building. We are going to take it cautiously and make sure both side are happy with the contract before rushing in to sign anything.

That's probably the case. You'll need to add some hard attachment points, as you're planning.

But you can't draw me a picture over the phone. The crayons mess up the screen.

If he has a scanner, he can draw you a picture, and send you the jpeg. Or, he can photograph it with a cell phone and transmit it that way.

Or you could try a skype video conference or Go To Meeting, which allows screen sharing.
