I still believe "Prometheus" will deal with it's own issues but set in the "Alien" universe.

I'm not sure why... It will be released with an R rating (99% sure). Perhaps with future TV broadcast in mind?

Looks fucking fantastic. Im sure The Dark Knight Rises will be great, but THIS is the film im waiting for next year.

It's PG-13 but Ridley and Tom Rothman will decide which version they will ultimately go with (PG-13 or R)

While I absolutely 100% agree with this, I can see how people are getting confused. The marketing so far has been about as subtle as a sledgehammer when it comes to highlighting the 'Alien' links. The trailer even has what sounds just like that same weird screech that was all over the original 'Alien' trailers.

While that's certainly true, how many people out of the general public is going to recognize the connection to the original Alien trailer? Many of them weren't alive then and won't look back at the trailer.

Which occurs before Alien. With the race that created the aliens. Hinting at what is to come in the Alien movies.

How the heck is it not a prequel? You don't have to have the same characters for it to be a prequel; that's just one type of prequel. It's like trying to say that Enterprise wasn't a prequel for Star Trek, or Caprica for Battlestar Galactica.
