Hi All...

I'm new to the BBS, but I've been a "trekkie" since before the term was uncool... before it was cool.. then uncool again. In other words, I went to my first Star Trek Convention in 1976, when trekkies predated geeks as the uncoolest kids in school.

I'm really excited about the Reboot and look forward to discussing it. Also, thanx to Netflix I'm rewatching all the TV shows. I finished Enterprise a few months ago, now I'm working through all the others simulantously.

Hi all, I'm new and I thought I might drop in. I have a little problem- I've been reading the Blue Warp Nacelles thread (yes, all 370 pages; though I'm only up to pg153) and have been coming across numerous references to this thread (the shouting spock one): http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?p=5322831
Unfortunately, I am unable to access it directly, only through a cached copy from google. Any insight to a solution would be appreciated.

We've been having some technical trouble recently, and just moved servers. A couple of threads were eaten and vanished altogether. I think it's part of that, I'm afraid.

I'm afraid the Google-cached copy of the "Shouting Spock" thread is going to have to do, Randy. The original—which was causing some significant server headaches as a result of the massive size to which it grew during its three-year run—was moved to archives upon its closure at 8000+ posts and is no longer viewable. Sad, I know, but there just wasn't a way for us to keep it out there for all to see. Welcome, anyway!

Wow, 8000+ posts- and I thought the Blue Nacelles thread was massive. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply. I'll probably be posting more after I finish reading the Blue Nacelles thread.

And on another note I'm posting here to say I rewatched ST:XI last night and my conclusion is that it is the greatest movie ever made.

Everybody's entitled to their opinion, I guess. And in my opinion it was a 'good' film. A somewhat worthy addition to the Trek Universe. But it WASN'T Star Trek. It was a bunch of very good actors in a Trek masquerade film mimicking classic Trek characters.

Been a lurker I think you call em, I've watched Star Trek since I was born (back in '92) and I've been hooked ever since. First memory I have was me watching Star Trek: The Motion Picture with my grandparents (Meemaw (God rest her soul) and Pawpaw, yeah I'm a real hick

) on a Betamax! I loved TMP because of the music, I was maybe two and I obviously had no idea what was going on but the music and the visuals just stuck with me.

I'm a Texan, I do wear boots and cowboy hat (occasionally, it's very hot out right now!), I do drive a big truck (my Paw's F150, I named her Marybeth to piss off one of my friends

), I do like country music (it's all I really listen to), I'm an environmental science major, and I like comedy and I like to laugh.

So hello.
