That IS the point of the strong/unbeatable hero on a team. Get the villain to kick their butts to show how much stronger they are. In this case, kill the unkillable.

Like what they did to Worf in most episodes of TNG.

(Besides, the same thing happened to him in the comics, and he came back from it. If they don't make a sequel, we can just imagine in a year or so he was able to pull himself back together.)

Mad Men is one of the best shows on television. While I could understand your not liking it, seems kind of dumb to just pass on this movie (which has next to nothing to do with Mad Men beyond sharing a leading actress) on that factor alone.

It's X-Men meets Austin Powers.
Not quite sure how you figure that, but what the hell, I'll bite. How so?

It was more like X-Men meets James Bond to me, but...

X-Men meets James Bond meets Austin Powers?

Yeah, I'm not seeing the In Like Flynt, Bondian-spoof stuff from the movie just because it happened to take place in the 60s and contained some lingo from the time. I mean, Austin Powers was an over the top, parody of a genre of films using broad caricatures of 60s spy movie archetypes.

Don't see that at all in this movie but to each his own, I suppose.

Re: X-MEN: FIRST CLASS - Grading+Discussion **SPOILERS!**

Simon Kinberg, who co-wrote X-Men: The Last Stand and was one of the producers on X-Men: First Class, has been hired to pen the script for the First Class sequel. You can read more here.

While I'm not the biggest fan of Kinberg, I am glad that movement has been made on the sequel. I'm also not tremendously worried since if Matthew Vaughn does come back then most likely he and Jane Goldman will probably end up re-writing the script (as they did on the first movie).

Yeah given the process that resulted in WGA's credit ruling perhaps Kinberg will not end up with any credit. He's the Jamie Moss of First Class 2!

Given that Kinberg was one of the producers of First Class, it is likely he had creative input on the film and have been working with Singer/Vaughn in developing FC2's story. Given the stormy production of TLS, the problems of that movie were likely already in motion before the pen hit paper.
