I can now use a deployable heavy disruptor turret. It is a device I can equip. each turret stays 300 seconds if not destroyed and the device has 20 turrets total before it is consumed. heavy turrets can be pretty nasty.

To construct the turret device you also need 3 specialized Doffs, one from each main department, tactical, engineering and science. To get the engineer technician, I traded with another player cause I didn't have that one. That is a lot of effort, but to be honest it felt more like crafting and an accomplishement then what you do at Memory Alpha atm. More of this please. |

Also, the Mk XI crafting costing dilithium is utter garbage.

Re: Star Trek Online Discussion Thread (now free to play!)
The general concept of Dilithium being both a crafting material and a currency is a sound one based on real-world economic principles. Your wedding ring is made of a material commonly used as a medium of exchange, after all. The idea of money NOT being made of crafting materials is pretty new to civilization in general.

I am paying 9 quid +vat and they need another 10 quid for any extra item they develop as if 11 quid I pay them and 50 000 others subscribers ain't enough, btw most games are free, just look mmos and most are free, so don't tell me industry standard nonsense. This game has more bugs than a termite mount, reason why I won't be renewing my subscription.

Re: Star Trek Online Discussion Thread (now free to play!)
As far as the F2P changes do - With what they are testing/planing for Crafting; IF those changes go live when F2P launches, they might as well just remove Crafting from the game as the fact that IN ADDITION to farming Anomalies; they ALSO require you to pay a Refined Dilithium cost to craft the actual item - it'll have the EXACT same result. |
