The Walking Dead Season 2 Discussion *Spoilers*

Well, thats one way of getting rid of kids that just wont stop aging on a show set of a couple of weeks. One missing and one on his deathbed.

One of the problems is having kids present. Kids generally tend to ruin movies and tv shows for a variety of reasons, mostly because they can't act so it's tough for them to convey certain situations and they tend to be used as the cutesy thing for us to fawn over, which of course is entirely uneccessary.

Hopefully Carl snuffs it. I couldn't care less about finding little whatsherface either. If we're lucky the flesh has already been ripped from her bones.

Last night's episode just didn't stress me out like some of last season's better episodes did. The zombie pack walkthrough was pretty decent I suppose, but also lacked in a way I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's because no real progress was made in the episode, it seems they actually regressed going to look for whatsherface.

Shane's a bitch. That much is clear. Dude, it's the zombie apocalypse, get over your silly little feelings for Rick's wife and stop feeling sorry for yourself. The focus should be on survival, not your soap opera bullshit. "Waaaaah I'm going to slip out of here when no one's looking waaaaah." Jesus.

Redneck the hillbilly is actually turning out to be a pretty decent character, even though he drives the loudest kind of bike one can drive. And I am kind of sick of every tv show having someone who knows how to track people in the forest.

They should have given blondie the gun, who cares if she offs herself? Her choice, plus one less mouth to feed.

Other than that, this episode was pretty forgettable. Seemed more like a midseason filler episode rather than a season premier.

Hopefully they get their shit together.

Shane= Dude get over it, what did you tag her a few months tops and you were tagging your friend's wife at that.

Carl = Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way, now we are going to get a half a season of fabricated drama by finding a doc/meds for the kid and so on.

whatsherface = too bad Billy Ray Zombie didn't snack on her after all, more fabricated drama that wasted too much show.
I'll bet the guy that shot Carl has her.

Redneck the hillbilly = Agreed. Absolutely love this actor from the Boondock Saints movies, it would be neat to get a cameo of Sean Patrick Flanery.

Last night’s season two premiere of AMC’s original series, “The Walking Dead” delivered the strongest telecast for any drama in basic cable history. The season two premiere delivered 4.8 million Adults 18-49 and 4.2 million Adults 25-54 shattering a basic cable record set nearly 10 years ago for a single drama telecast. The program delivered a 4.8 HH rating netting 7.3 million total viewers. These results represent a 36% and 38% increase respectively over season one’s series average on AMC. Season one’s series average delivered the most A18-49 viewers for a drama in basic cable history.

OMG! TWD did AMAZING in the ratings! There is no way AMC won't order a season 3 right now!

The thing is...if Andrea shoots herself, the zombies will hear it and come after them.

And i wouldn't want to be in the car with her when it happens.


With the twist with Shane (divergent form the comics), i wonder if he & Andrea will hook up? That could help ground Shane into resuming his connection with the community -- and give Andrea hope.

I know that the story is about the characters more so than the Zombies but this episode was long in character devleopment and short on suspense which is what made season one so good IMO.

Darryl's been interesting....in the "real world" he probably would have been locked up by now, and written off. In the New World, he's actually a hero and vital to humanity's survival.

Yeah, it seemed more Catholic....but while it's outside of the norm, Southern Baptist churches are supposed to be self-ruling, so they can diverge from "tradition". Uptown Baptist Church in Chicago is a Southern Baptist mission church...but for years under one pastor they did "Catholic stuff" like celebrate Ash Wednesday with a service, have the 7 stations of the cross, and other things like that.

So i noticed it, but didn't let it bother me THAT much (thought I AM a Trek fan on a messgae board).

It would have been funny, when they were in the church, when Rick was staring the Jesus statue, if Darryl had said something like "y'know, the reason why he's not looking very happy toward you is because he was the victim of police brutality..."

This was an OK episode. I do have to agree about Shane though. He was being pretty annoying over the whole thing with Rick's wife (I'm brainfarting on her name). I like the idea of him Andrea getting together though, and I kinda got the impression that was what they might be going for in some of their scenes together.

I liked this first episode well enough. It didn't disappoint. I hope the series doesn't go downhill. That's all that can really be said at this point.

Did anyone watch The Talking Dead? It didn't end up airing until after the encore (at 12am EST), so I had my DVR record it and I watched it today. It was mildly amusing at times, but I'm not sure if it'll offer all that much week-in, week-out. I suppose that shouldn't surprise me; it did seem like it would just be a fluff extra when it was announced.

Patton Oswalt and James Gunn as the guests was a little odd, and I don't think they added much to the show.

Robert Kirkman appeared for a few minutes and addressed the "hiding under cars" issue by (paraphrasing here) that the sense of smell the zombies had exhibited in season one was very rudimentary and the best they were able to do was tell that the survivors were not like them, so he considered hiding under cars to be sufficient; "they're not bloodhounds," he said during his answer.

Other than that, there was some footage shown from when the scene with Daryl and Rick cutting open the walker in the woods was being filmed. Andrew Lincoln talked about how much Norman Reedus had been looking forward to doing that scene, and James Gunn recounted an anecdote from sitting next to Michael Rooker at an event where the premiere was screened. Apparently Rooker didn't think Reedus was cutting into the body correctly.

Ah, nice. That would've been my guess; I remember the news of it breaking records back when it premiered. I also remember being happy about that because I had loved the pilot.
