I don't know, maybe a bit early for another go at Star Trek?

I guess a remake of Space: Above and Beyond could be interesting, but it's been so long and I guess if they made a new one people would just call it a BSG rip-off.

I liked Kings and Jericho and wanted to see more of those shows, but there's a reason they were cancelled, and I don't see how that would change now if the god of sci-fi tv reanimated them.

Oh, forgot about Jericho, definitely that. I haven't seen Kings, but the concept sounds fancinating, and Ian McShane is an acting god.

Star Trek (reboot or preboot).

I would say The Incredible Hulk, but the kind of project that I would be interested in is less a remake of the live-action show and more a new and more faithful live-action adaptation, which is seemingly what will air in 2012.

I expected to see a lot of TOS and ENT references in this thread, surprised that this is the only Trek nod - but I guess reviving Star Trek is as stale an idea as reviving Firefly.

Yes, yes, I know there are people who think the show wasn't just awful. Fortunately there aren't many.

I also think Crusade was bad, but I probably would have watched it until the second season to see if it was gonna pull its stuff together. It was the most promising of all JMS's Babylon 5 spinoff projects, but that's admittedly a terribly low bar.

I'd say the same about Caprica, although it was quite a bit better than Crusade.

I'd bring back Star Trek, but not any of the existing series. I want something new.

Other than that, I'd bring back any series that showed promise and didn't have the chance to fully tell its story: Firefly, Invasion, Jericho.

BSG, Lost, Farscape and B5 told their stories in full, so I wouldn't bring them back. I could see B5 having a good spinoff, though, but not Lost or Farscape. Caprica could have been a good spinoff for BSG, but required rethinking and greater dramatic focus.

Then there are the series that didn't really show a lot of promise but have premises that are worthy of a reboot or retry: Crusade, Threshold and Stargate in general are in that category.

Yep. Might be very different from what we envision. What would work on the CW is very different from what would work on Showtime is very different from what would work on The Cartoon Network.

Why is it "too early"? The movie demonstrated there is a great deal of interest in Star Trek, as long as it's presented in a convenient and attractive way, and doesn't suck. People will pay ten bucks to see it, but not watch it for free on broadcast or the cable channel they already subscribe to?
