I think the same thing was obvious for most Trek shows. The early seasons sounded as if the actors had a higher pitched voices, but then after a couple of years, it would subside.

I suppose PAL foreign language versions do not suffer from a voice speed up because the dubbing was done for the PAL version? So if the new release slows them down to the original speed of 23.976 frames per second... will the dubbed voices start sounding weird (as in: deeper)?

Blu-ray added support for the normal film framerate, 23.976 frames per second, so film content can be shown "as is" without being sped up. * Yes, NTSC is supported as well, but there's no guarantee that TVs could show it natively, and no requirement that players support converting on-the-fly, so there was never any chance that a major commercial house would support it.
