Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

OK, time for some more pix from the set.

First up, a closer look at the detailing on the bus-stop:

Interesting to note that there's both English and German visible on the signage.

Next, we have a few vehicles representing Stuttgart's finest:

And then we have more vehicular carnage!

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Here's another group of pix from last night; I'll post a few more in the next day or so.

Here's another detailed sign, set on the edge of the 'beer-garden':

There's more to the marquee than meets the eye. A few minutes before eight, they turned on the electric scroll under the main sign; this should look pretty cool when it's on film:

And finally, some food bound for the set:

Just curious, have there been any pictures from the New Mexico shoot that have surfaced? Or have I just missed them?

I'm amazed how much this looks like Germany, the set designers know what they're doing!

yes, better than some TV shows that purport to be in, say London, and then feature yellow lines on the road or yellow traffic lights hanging over the road or the wrong license plates, even though they go to the bother of UK style signs or posters advertising tickets to some gig with £15 on...

And, I suspect it's a lot less expensive than actually filming in Stuttgart.

Which is too bad for Stuttgart.

But very good for Cleveland.

That's okay, when Doctor Who did a 1930s period location shoot in New York they shot the Statue Of Liberty complete with the gilt, spotlit "flame" that was installed in the 1980s to replace the paned glass one...

It's going to seem kinda strange not going back downtown to see what new stuff they've put together. I think last night was the final filming on Public Square, and yesterday afternoon they were shooting a scene on the Detroit-Superior bridge.

yeah, but that was because they shot 2nd unit stuff in New York now, not because they were pretending Vancouver was London or LA was Vienna or some crazy ass stuff like US shows do.
