has anyone read chuck hogan's the strain?
I listened to the sudiobook as read by Ron Perlman. Fine tale, a really good update of the vampire mythos with some engaging characters. Hogan co-wrote it with Guillermo del Toro.

I've read the first two books of the Strain Trilogy and liked both. You can see Del Toro playing with some of the ideas he first brought up in Blade 2.

I haven't read it yet, but I do have The Strain on my Nook wishlist, and I really look forward to reading it.

I haven't watched them myself, but they do have some movie style trailers/scenes on the official website.

I'm sorry to say that it's being reported that she passed away yesterday. Various tributes to her are already popping up on-line.

I know my friend wants to see FRIGHT NIGHT so I'll probably wait until Monday to watch it with her and catch CONAN this weekend.

Re: vampires

Conan, maybe. Fright Night looks like it will probably be a Netflixer for me.
