is that the only vampire book he's written?

I believe so. Although he also did a good werewolf story titled "The Skin Trade."

as novel or a short story? and if it is a short story do you know what book it's in?

As I recalll, it's a novella or novelette. I read it years ago in a collection titled THE SKIN TRADE, although I wouldn't be surprised if it's been reprinted in other anthologies as well.

The Hedge Knight is one of the Dunk and Egg novellas, which are Game of Thrones related (but set about 70 years prior to the series, IIRC.)

I'm new to the series as well (didn't read it until after the TV show premiered), and I haven't read them (but I've seen other people talking about them online, which is how I found out what they were.) They're three novellas covering the adventures of Aegon Targaryen and Ser Duncan, a member of the Kingsguard.

Wikipedia has more information, but it's full of spoilers:

The new Fright Night will need to work really hard to be as fun as the original. Still, I'm looking forward to it. The trailer was interesting.

Got it on DVD not long ago, its actually a pretty good movie with an interesting twist on the genre in general. Check it out if you get the chance.

I really enjoyed Daybreakers. I thought it was an interesting take on Vampirism spread via infection.

I loved the opening sequence with the little girl.

Also, I valued that the daughter would not allow her father to compromise her principles.

I was saddened as those deformed, formerly-human shells were drug out into the sunlight.
