Super 8/Star Trek connection. SPOILERS

I'm probably reading way more into this than was intended, but did anyone else catch that in the chase through town towards the end of the movie, the bossy kid is wearing a gold/yellow windbreaker, the thoughtful kid is wearing a blue windbreaker and the kid who gets hurt in the explosion is wearing a red windbreaker? I noticed this as I was rewatching the movie again tonight. J.J. Abrams directed both and is notorious for throwing in geek Easter eggs like this all the time.

On a side note, the whirring sound in the creature's den sounds a lot like the jet turbine in the pilot of "Lost".
Be careful out there.

The most notable one was a gas station called "Kelvin."
For me, and for many of us, the future is now in the past.
