That was more in regards to Bran and Arya and maybe Tommen I suspect. Margaery makes sense to be 16 as otherwise she would have been betrothed already, being from a rich and power hungry family.

Well, I don't think bumping her age up by a couple years would make that much difference to betrothal (and she's 15 when she first appears, not 16), but I imagine he was thinking of Arya, Sansa, Bran, and Dany, yeah.

There are a couple of ways to get around that in aging the character up. Someone at Winter Is Coming suggested it could be written that she's been married to an old invalid lord who never managed to consummate the marriage and that he's since died leaving her available for marriage again whilst still a virgin. That's not too bad. Another possibility is that it could be said that her family so favors and prizes her that they've held off agreeing to a marriage to anyone less than a king or heir apparent.

I'd go with this. Indeed, with the series having Loras prod Renly in the direction of kingship, the Tyrells may have had their eye on marrying Magaery to Renly and claiming the Iron Throne for a long time now.

Looks like German Amazon site is allowing ordering A Dance With Dragons and shipping it right now (unlike regular Amazon site which lists the book only as pre-order):
    http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/0553801473/ref=oss_product

I ordered it, will report if they really ship it tomorrow (that's what the orders page says).

Edit - false alarm. Looks like it was a mistake. The book is listed only for pre-order again.

Is it coming out early in Germany? Wikipedia says the US/UK release date is July 12, and I would think being an American book, we'd be the first to get it.

Looks like someone on German Amazon fucked up and the things there are back to normal, though my order page still says it'll be shipped tomorrow.

^ That would be a nice surprise, to say the least. :)

The last couple at least have been released in the UK weeks or months ahead of the US due to their faster turnover from manuscript to the shelves. Mostly it is because the UK publisher has worse editing and quality of binding and much smaller numbers to put out.

Ooo, that'd be awesome. Any ideas who he could play?

You don't think...nah. He doesn't look like a Stannis. Does he?

I think Eccleston could do a great Stannis. The question for me is whether he'd take the role, which would (if the series gets renewed for those seasons) commit him to a three-year run at the very least. It keeps getting suggested that he doesn't want long commitments, though that may just be Internet gossip.

He might be willing to do it for a role that wouldn't be as intensive and time-consuming as a lead role like the Doctor was. Stannis is an important character, but he isn't a leading role.

Tony Curran had also auditioned for a role..but this was older news.
