CARRIE remake moving forward
The original film got a sequel and also another tv remake. You know that Hollywood has ran out of ideas when they start remaking movies that already had a remake.

Re: CARRIE remake moving forward
Luc Besson must be really obsessed with this premise. Also the most recent movie, Hanna and upcoming movie Columbiana with Zoe Saldana? As for a Carrie remake. Good luck with that one! I'd much rather see a movie about tomorrow's "Rapture" and the 153 days of Judgement Day in October. |

Re: CARRIE remake moving forward
Hollywood is more about making money than making good cinema. Seems to be the trend these days. Take News outlets...they are more about their political agenda than reporting the news accurately and without bias. We are living in the dark ages again. |

Re: CARRIE remake moving forward
But it will have to be a pretty good movie to measure up to DePalma's. And frankly, most of the remakes of 70s horror classics that I've seen have been pretty weak. So I'm not all that optimistic.

Re: CARRIE remake moving forward
What made the original Carrie work was how creepy Suzy Spacek (sp?) was already.. She looked the part already and acted incredibly in the role. To do this again right (but since when has that mattered 'see the Amityville Horror remake with Ryan Reynolds'), they would have to find an actress who already has that creepy vibe... Putting a flavor of the month pretty face into the role ain't gonna cut it.. The sequel that Amy Irving starred in had its moments... Especially when she was offed toward the end.. Didn't see that coming at all..
