Going on the first sentence of the Matt Smith section I think this was written before Matt Smith had been seen on screen as the Doctor.

11th Doctor Matt Smith has only even been filming his first episides for a month, and he won't be seen onscreen as the Doctor until Tennant turns into him this January, but already he's polarised Who fans.

One of the best Classic Who serials is "The Caves Of Androzani". It's the 5th Doctor's final story. And it is amazing.

Just sayin'
Ah. I started that one earlier this week. I got bored pretty quickly and did something else. I'll have to try again now that I know it's an important one.
Well, it's not REALLY all that important until the last 5 minutes of the last episode. Then it becomes just about the most important 5 minutes in the entire series.
Yes its the five minues when Who died

I also enjoyed Cracked.com's "primer" on Doctor Who, though it is unfairly hard on Eccleston.
Eccleston? It was unfairly hard on ALL of the actors. It's written in a personal and vindictive style. Whenever anyone questions the article, she immediately comes back with a giant bitch slap lobbied directly at the poster.

If I was unfamiliar with Doctor Who and read that article, I wouldn't even give the show a chance.
I've just read it and it sure is shite. She obviously thinks she has a sense of humour, it's evident that she has not though.

Well, I thought it was funny, but I am admittedly new to Who fandom. Seems to me she's a huge fan though. I think it's during the 3rd Doctor bit where she as much as says so.

Ok, I have not read all the pages as of yet...but I am going to comment on the first post by V\'ger.

A lot of work went into that to be sure...being a Whovian since 1977, I noticed a few discrepancies...but they can be over looked for the amount of work that went into it. Whom ever this V\'ger is...they did a great job.

I was a Whovian before I became a Trekkie. I know...Wha???
I am liking this site more and more. Wow!

I am just so happy there is a place for Whovians here as well.

Actually, I just got hooked on the show. Netflix has Dr. Who Second Season (David Tennant) in instant watch, and I've watched the first 5 episodes. I already have five observational comments:

1) The show has great wit and humor, tied in with an occasional startling revelation.
2) Billy Piper is smoking hot.
3) The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) is fantastic. He carries the mantle of a Time Lord well.
4) Lots of action, adventure, lots of twists, it's a very fun show.
5) Did I mention Billy Piper was smoking hot?

Oh, and for the past 7 hours or so, the theme song has been on a constant loop in my head. Make it stop!

J.
OK, Please do not take this the wrong way J. as I do not know you or anything but...when Santa Claus says Billie Piper is Smoking Hot...that is just creepy...funny but creepy.

Yeah, working my way back thought the pages. Why backwards? Why not?

Tegan Jovanka (Janet Felding) 1981-1984

Tegan appears in all but one of the Fifth Doctor's stories. She's an air hostess from Australia who often complains about the Doctor's inability to control the TARDIS, and has suffered considerable trauma on her journeys, being posessed by the entity known as the Mara at least twice.

Actually, Tegan didn't appear in TWO of the Fifth Doctor's stories: "Planet of Fire" and "The Caves of Androzani".

Otherwise, this primer is great!

I just got into the show not too long ago. About a quarter of the way into season 3. This show if freakin' awesome! It does get a little jarring going from one actor to another in terms of the different doctors and even now with the companions, going from Rose to Martha. Otherwise, good times. Consider me now, a Who fan! Going to start Torchwood as well once I get caught up with Doctor Who.
