I always shudder when someone refers to a 'Cardigan' as a 'Cardy' - it sounds racist! - although not as bad as Spoon Head. Thats just mean!

Besides, Braga wrote a lot of darn good eps.

The problem was, they were just around too long, and everything got too formulaic.

Frankly, The Bird Himself suffered that problem in the first two seasons of TNG. Yet no one would invoke him as an insult.
