Care to explain Ensign Janeway on TNG?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708746/

Episode 6.2. Man of the People.

It was Doogie Hausers blonde girlfriend Wanda.

She looks enough like "young" Mulgrew, that they both could have been playing the same character.

Was the part of Kathryn recast?

How did Janeway go from Ensign to Captain in just short of a year?

I smell something dirty and underhanded.

Blackmail or out and out fraud?

I'd say it was a different character, unless you want to believe that nobody else in Starfleet could possibly have the same last name.

How many people have the name Smith and aren't related to one another?

Are we to take this to mean that Conn Officer Torres in "Encounter at Farpoint" has a connection to B'Elanna?

It's all just coincidence. Either that or a huge conspiracy that they don't want you to know about...

Pishaw!

I say it's a secret Eugenics program.

They took a whiny Ensign and pimped her out into a Superwoman Captain.

If I give them a whiny Ensign will they pimp me one too?

Great shades of Cherry 2000, but sure... What Ensign are you planning on feeding to the Stepford Captain pimping press?

You got a Gilmore, a Wildeman or perhaps even a yummy little Celes?

Re: Care to explain Ensign Janeway on TNG?

I will feed them ENSIGN HARRY KIM.

I want my hot SUPER KIM, the Kim I was meant to have before he lost his cojones in The Chute. The Kim that apparently no one else but ME believes in, the power Kim within the noodle. And because I am the one who believes in him when he pops out the other end of the eugenics tube he will ADORE me.

Let me know when he's been prepared for the procedure, I will hold noodle Kim's hand as it begins.

Sorry.

But the best possible Kim in the universe is still only going to be a third of a Sulu.

DEMORA Sulu.

I'll play.

Ensign Janeway was the only genius-level repeat offender in Indiana. A grizzled Starfleet captain who did his dissertation on Shannon O'Donnell took her under his wing. After he was captured, she engineered a nervous breakdown in the acting CO, took command herself, and saved the day. Got her four pips with heroics to spare.

After a bizarre encounter with a vengeful Q, she was left with a transformed appearance.

I will take this to Dr. Soong if I have to. I will have my Power Kim. I don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place. Knowing Guy Gardener if we put noodle Kim into the eugenics tube he was operating THIS would pop out the other end:

Ensign years are seven times longer than human years.

I wouldn't trust "that" to get me paint to huff.
