They could still license it or something. They're not going to put a Star Trek series on CBS. A cable station or direct-to-DVD is the perfect outlet for Trek; then they could concentrate on stories and character and not resort to embarrassingly retarded blockbusters.

Well, finally gotten around to seeing it, and I liked it a lot. Intresting to see the streets of Atlanta all abandoned. And I had to luahg a bit when he mentioned Highway 85, 'cause I went on that all the time when I was there.

Also loved Bear McCreary's work. He really is a top notch composer when he's let loose. Can't wait for the score album.

Phew! Only just playing catchup for the week now...just in time for the next episode!

Well thank grud for TWD because without it, the whole new season of shows would be a total washout. AMC has done it again, this is every bit as excellent as I'd hoped, the one new show of the season actually worth watching, despite my total lack of interest in the zombie genre (and they really aren't breaking any new ground here either, just taking old tropes and executing them really well.)

Imagine a show like The Event that was pulled off like this - that's they way the networks need to approach their sf/f shows. I wonder how long it will take the dimbulb networks to realize that unless they just want to stick to the cookie-cutter stuff like cop shows/lawyer shows/doctor shows/sitcoms, they need to look at what cable is doing and at least try to come up to that level?

I mean if the worst problem people find with your show is that the tank shouldn't have an escape hatch in real life you probably should be happy.

Good lord, yes! Given the sorry state of TV overall, they can have all the escape hatches in tanks they like, and I'll be happy to see something worth bothering with for a change.

One thing I wonder about is whether the American public is going to be willing to stay with a show this grim for the long haul.

They only need an AMC-sized audience, so I think they're in the clear. There's a real hunger out there for any decent TV, and the gore really wasn't that terrible. (I actually found the horse to be the most disturbing thing, yes, I'm the kind of viewer who doesn't care if you rip people's heads off, but leave the animals alone. )

I'm also just catching up.

I liked it fine. I wished the pacing was a little quicker, less ponderous. And I feel like they traded actual horror for gore. For me gore isn't scary. It's a special effect. Watching it I don't think I was ever really scared.

I also kept thinking about the British show Survivors. Especially with the whole missing son story line. Which, I don't know if I would have answered so quickly to be honest.

I'll keep watching, but, it's not appointment TV.

Count me as a little late catching up to the show as well. Watched the pilot and follow up episode tonight and color me impressed. Basically a really well done show that's 2 parts "The Stand", 1 part "Cell" and 1 Part "Jeremiah". It's shot as though it expects it's audience to be able to keep up and that's a really refreshing thing in today's TV shows.

I don't like the whole best friend sleeping with the wife thing - unless- he was already doing it before the current apocalypse occurred. Still, even if that were the case it's so been there, done that. However, that's the only nit I have to pick with the show. I like the cast involved, The cinematography is beautiful and so far the writing is strong. They'll have to develop new nemesis and story-lines fairly quickly as the walking dead themselves don't present viable or even interesting long term antagonists, but they'll suffice for the first half of this season.

All in all I'd say it's a very good show with lots of potential and moves up right behind Fringe of my shows I must watch every week list. It still has a ways to go to show me that it can continue it's early success since Jeremiah started off fairly strong and petered off into mediocre land after a while so I'll be watching with anticipa........tion to see how the show turns out.

Another outstanding episode, in my opinion. I only hope George Romero is watching and sees how he squandered the last three "Living Dead" movies.

The first half of the season doesn't give them much time, the season's only 6 episodes long.

Caught part 2 tonight. Nothing earth-shattering, but good solid zombie fun with only two 'why would anyone do that?!' moments.

* Wandering off into the woods alone during a zombie apocolypse. At the very least the 'always trravel in pairs' rule should have been in effect. And I don't know about anyone else. But as soon as I heard that first twig snap, my new nickname would be Roadrunner.

* Lets have a warm bonding moment in full view of the undead horde when the only thing seperating you is a couple of plate glass doors.

Oh, and tonights zombie survival tip: Don't be an asshole.

Yeah another good episode. No wonder it was called "Guts" because those were some ballsy MFers, of course the fact they were covered in zombie guts may have had something to do with it too. As for the "man" left behind, he deserved to be left behind, even though it looks like that causes some problems next epidsode.

That's truly pathetic. I thought the 12 episode Dexter seasons were ridiculously short.
