I'm warming up to the title. At least it's not something really horrible like "Dark of the Moon". I too thought that it has something to do with Bruce rising out of the darkness from the last movie.

Yeah, that's why I don't like it. It's too obvious. Although I guess "Batman Begins" wasn't exactly a subtle title either.

Well, no, but at least I don't think those titles are boring. "The Dark Knight Rises" is boring to me.

Sometimes as much as a title name can generate speculation and discussion as to what the plot of the movie might be about...I think we as fans tend to overanaylze things like this too much. I'm a little disappointed that the Riddler was taken off the list, would love if Hugo Strange appeared, love the fact that it won't be filmed in 3D.

Bit unsure of that title too. It kinda sucks.

I thought Riddler would fit in well with Nolan's series, and it would be cool to see a different interpretation from the hyperative one most people are familair with. But if Nolan doesn't want to use him, then he doesn't want to use him, and that's that.

If Batman Begins was the origin, and The Dark Knight was the evolution (he's now Gotham's Dark Knight) but this one comes with a price... he falls. The Dark Knight Rises... evolved but fallen, our hero must pick himself back up and "rise".

I'm sure the film will be fantastic, regardless of the title, but why are so many sequels these days rising, or falling, or returning or revenging?

Besides, I don't want to hear that Bruce Wayne's "dark knight" is rising. TMI, if you ask me.

Having the last two films be "The Dark Knight," though, really does make "Batman Begins" feel like it doesn't even belong in this series.

Well, we've seen worse. For instance:

1. First Blood
2. Rambo: First Blood Part II
3. Rambo III
4. Rambo

Or the Inspector Clouseau series, which began with The Pink Panther and A Shot in the Dark, then had the "non-canonical" Inspector Clouseau without Peter Sellers or Blake Edwards, then had The Return of the Pink Panther (bringing back the Pink Panther diamond and its thief from the original film), and then had Pink Panther in every subsequent title in the series even though the diamond wasn't involved, because that title had become associated with Clouseau himself through repetition.

Someone on another site suggested Gotham City as a title and I liked it.

I know it could never fly as a title, but I was so, so hoping the third film would be called The Goddamn Batman.
