Hmm... Lexa Doig as Prynn sounds intriguing. Why did you pick her, KingDaniel?

Not to bad, but I've always had a clear mental picture of her as Grace Park, pretty much since I first read Avatar.

It's because Prynn's story with her father reminded me of Stargate SG1, where Dr. Lamb (Lexa) had a bumpy start to her working relationship with her dad, General Landrey (Beau Bridges). It had something to do with Lamb's mother (who was still alive), but I can't remember specifics.

Flanagan's the right physical type, Taylor's closer to the attitude. Flanagan, I'm not sure could capture Bacco's abrasiveness.....

Mirren's all wrong, and I say that as a huge fan of hers. FWIW, I always had Judi Dench as T'Latrek.

^She's (Flanagan) been pretty abrasive in some of her lesser-known (to the US, anyway) Irish or English work such as Some Mother's Son or even as Felicity Huffman's mother in Transamerica. But it's nice to know the opinion of Bacco's creator one way or the other!

Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

Does this just have to be current actors/personalities or can it be ones that are older or are gone now as well?

EDIT: Crap. Just realized, I resurrected an older thread. Sorry, Mods! *walks away quietly with sheepish embarrassment on the ol' face*

Actually, since this is a sticky I don't think it counts as reviving an old thread.

As for you're question, this all fantasy casting being done for fun, so I don't think it matters. Cast away.

Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

^ Yeah, it's all casting of characters highly unlikely to be televised. That's especially the case with casting characters in fan-fiction. For example, two of my fan-fiction are "played" by actresses as they appeared when they went into acting, but are now near or past 40 years old.

I just had a thought for a book-character casting question I've never seen asked before:

Who would you cast as Ael t'Rllaillieu from the Rihannsu series? Or as Arrhae? Or as the voice of Naraht, K's't'lk, etc.?
For Naraht and K's't'lk I would cast Nick Frost and Jessica Hynes respectively, if only because of their association with nuScotty, Simon Pegg...

Dr. Hugh Cambridge: Hugh Laurie. I've never watched House, but from the moment I started reading Cambridge's lines, Laurie was my image of him.

He was also in the Kirsten Beyer's head . She has mentioned this in various interviews as well as right here at the trekBBS

Hugh Laurie's brief appearance on "Friends". Not as recognizable without the five o'clock shadow. I caught the ending credits of that episode of "Friends" and saw "Hugh Laurie as Gentleman on Plane." I couldn't picture him, but sure enough once I found that clip.

I wondered out loud in the Photoshop thread if anyone could put Laurie inside a DS9-era sciences uniform, and J. Allen came through.
