Harris is fine...just incredibly annoying. But my take is that she's SUPPOSED to be annoying. She's a foil of sorts for Cutty and a reluctant anchor for Garrivick.

Very fond of Harris as a character and Guess as an actor. Her main failure as a faux Englishwoman is probably the writer's - the specific examples escape me now, but it has been pointed out that some of her vocabulary is colloquially "American."

While I would imagine that residents of the real Scotland probably get an occasional chuckle out of James Doohan's faux accent, Scotty seems to be widely loved around the world. I would say the same is true for the way fans of STARSHIP EXETER look upon Commander Harris.

One scene I just loved was when Harris left Garrovick in the briefing room, essentially telling him he was stuck with Ensign Richards whether he like it or not. That was very good writing. It reminded me of the times when Spock and McCoy would tell Kirk he was full of it, like in "Obsession". McCoy was my favorite character in TOS, and Harris is already making a good impression in SE.

I hope the whole cast and crew keep up the good work, get "Tressaurian" done, and keep making great adventures. They've managed to match the look, the atmosphere and the drama of TOS and make it current. I'd love to see them move on and tackle a non-military drama.

Holly does a great job as Harris. I hope to see her in more ST episodes. Heck, I hope Exeter will continue making episodes. As long as someone is working on the last Act, and the "Behind the Bridge" serries.... I'm a happy camper. One frame at a time, one minute at a time, some progress is better than none.
