Yes I got my copy last night and read and looked at it this am. Loved the art and the changes Mark made. Still falling in love with this new lady.

I couldn't get too good a look at the sample image, but it looks like he changed out the "Defiant-ish" wedge prow for a more Ent-E/Voyager saucer...is that correct?

Thought it killed me to switch away from September's great shot (pre-refit Enterprise) the Aventine is featured for this month in the SotL calendar.

Er...not to nitpick (yeah, right), but how did we arrive at a mass of 321,630 tons?

Re: USS Aventine

Are we going to 'officially' find out what the Aventine's bridge will look like?

i'm sure we will. but when is another matter. since Mr. Rademaker has finished the ship now, maybe he'll do some interiors as well.

Re: USS Aventine

Have they talked about the Aventine over in Trek Tech as well, or is all "uncanon" ship discussion done here in Trek Lit?

some consider the treklit books soft canon, but the opinions differ quite a bit. truthfully, its safer to say that the aventine is uncanon.

I don't know about Trek Tech, but there are often Trek Art threads based on the literature. For instance, there was a thread last year in which various people were offering designs for Cleopatra's Needle from my The Buried Age, though that's sadly gone dormant. And I've seen Aventine threads there too.

Thank you, Christopher; will have to check out the Trek Art forum.

Re: USS Aventine

Hoping to get back to the Cleopatra's Needle project at some point sooner than later. Been busy of late with other things, including artwork for a couple of comics projects that should see print in a couple of months. Details on those projects in the appropriate branch forum here when they're ready.

Got this issue late...WOW, a fairly comprehensive article with lots of new visual concepts and artwork of the Aventine, plus a pull-out. What a beautiful ship! Highly recommend this issue...or get the online version..
