This thread is SUCH a great idea! For a while now I've been just dicking around with Photoshop and ImageReady, not anything anywhere near worthy of it's own threads, just simple stuff, so I've never posted it or anything.

This is a non-canon ship from Bridge Commander, the USS Chabot - Refit, that I animated:

I made a similar one with a screencap from First Contact:

As well as a similar avatar of the Enterprise D:

I've also tried my hand at recreating the transporter effect from TOS:

Not that this one meshes well at all, TOS effects, TNG background, and DS9 uniform.
(Yes, that's me being an uber-nerd. )

Like I said, wicked simple stuff, but I'm proud of it anyways.

I don't exactly have any specific direction I go with these sort of things, I just kind of pick a specific effect or technique I'd like to be able to do with Photoshop, mess around with it until I figure out how to do it, and then pop out a few different pictures that use that effect or technique. That's why I have 3 different warp-jump pictures, and (although I didn't post all of them) 3 different transporter effects.
awesome animated .gifs there

I like the Ent-E nacelles on the Excelsior hull. I bet the Aventine's would look good on her too.

Downloaded some new brushes for Photoshop and made this while fiddling around with them:

Once the doors open, is there any animation after that or do you just sit there and listen to the song looping endlessly staring at a still pic?

I just thought that with the length of the music there'd be more animation to go with it.

I had only just sort of learned how to add music to flash then and didn't know how to edit it

found an Ent-D version of that. Absolutely stunning in my opinion. I wish I had that kind of talent.

Hmmm, not as impressed myself. It's a lot of work to be sure, someone has spent weeks animating and tweaking models to get the movement and scenes right, but its a bit lacking. I think that primarily it's the very flat lighting that lets it down. With some nice dramatic lighting it would have looked amazing, and made the rather average looking Enterprise model look a lot better. As it is it looks a bit like those machinima movies that people make using Bridge Commander.
