Iron Man 2: Build up till release DISCUSSION

We are now some 5 weeks away from the release. Trailers, Suitcase armor trailer, TVspots, interviews and posters IM & WarMachine will be coming at us in force.

The latest is from Wonder Con.

Enter the Black Widow, solo poster. Sure to adorn dorm rooms everywhere come fall semester.

Anyone getting the toyline? Those figures look good and I've gotten a few.

Such a naughty thread title....

I can't say I'm all that excited about it...I'm not totally convinced about Whiplash. I expect it'll be a fun movie, but, for some reason, it's not on my Must See Opening Day list.

I am looking forward to the movie....

...But seriously, could they have made a worse official poster for it if they tried? I think not... http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...ageID=35007387

That poster is an abomination!

Marvel Select - Iron Man 2 Line: Mark IV Figure

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqKHcADCfIo

P.S: Photos with the white eye on the mask - are custom stickers. The real version does not have painted eyes.

It looks so much better with painted eyes.

I don't remember anything about this one being covered

Mark IV select

^Wow, that figure is infinitely better than some of the lame action figures Hasbro has been putting out for their regular line. That one is bigger, more articulated, and just a much better figure. I'm definitely going to buy that when I can.

Also, on the topic of posters, the Iron Man films have generally mediocre or bad posters. It was the same case with the first film and now the second.

As for the film, I am relatively looking forward to it. I thought the first film was a genuine surprise, even though it was extremely over-hyped (it was basically a generic action/superhero summer blockbuster -- the only thing that made it unique was the added presence of Robert Downey Jr.). I have a feeling the second film will just be more of the same, and plus, my friend who works at Marvel said it was awful, so that diminished my hopes a bit. We'll see, though. I have an open mind.

Yeah the regular line is just bleh

For the Marvel Select figure, articulation sucks, paint chips easily and the unpainted eyes are unforgivable.

Ofcourse there's a middle ground. Marvel exclusives to Walmart which features........

6 inch figure depicting the scene where Stark stops to eat donuts.

Don't forget that the novelization comes out tomorrow...Chapters already has 18 copies in already. Will probably be picking up a copy next week.

At last, somebody cast a woman in a comic book movie who can actually make the outfit work.

^I thought Alba looked good in her uniform. That is to say, the faux-blonde hair was terrible, but everything below the bangs looked nice.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

^I have nothing against Jessica Alba, and I hated all the disgusting "the only Latin women with blonde hair are hookers" talk we got on here, but I think Sue was miscast.

They got Reed, Johnny and especially Ben right, but Sue didn't feel right at all.

We hear that Scarlett will bring her Black Widow character to The Avengers. I'm all for female superheroes, but what does the BW bring to the team? She has no powers to speak of. I'm sure she can beat up security guards, but that seems rather meaningless next to heavyweights like Iron Man and Thor.
