Re: The Plan / Razor soundtrack (pre-order)

Not sure if it's been mentioned here, but you can buy an audio and video copy of the BSG Orchestra live version of Apocalypse on iTunes... it's just a little hard to find because they fraked up the Artist fields to put the videographer instead of Bear's name. It went up when all the BSG albums went up on iTunes. I'm guessing this is the same version that will be the last track on the CD, which brings me to my next point...

Bear released a tracklist for the CD... it's gonna totally rock as usual, it appears. What's interesting is he seemed to arrange it in events chronological order-ish, rather than grouping the Plan tracks together and the Razor tracks together.

Also... Bear announced Scott Ian of Anthrax will be contributing tracks to a slight remix of the Apocalypse from The Plan's end credits for track 1.

1. Apocalypse (Theme from “The Plan”)
From “The Plan”
Featuring Raya Yarbrough, vocals
Lyrics Traditional
Music by Bear McCreary
2. Razor Main Title
From “Razor”
3. Arriving at Pegasus
From “Razor”
4. The Plan Main Title
From “The Plan”
5. Attack on the Scorpion Shipyards
From “Razor”
6. Apocalypse, Pt. I
From “The Plan”
7. Apocalypse, Pt. II
From “The Plan”
8. Pegasus Aftermath
From “Razor”
9. Kendra’s Memories
From “Razor”
10. Mayhem on the Colonies
From “The Plan”
11. Civilian Standoff on the Scylla
From “Razor”
12. Husker in Combat
From “Razor”
Contains “Theme from “Battlestar Galactica”
by Stu Phillips and Glen A. Larson
Adapted and Arranged by Bear McCreary
13. Major Kendra Shaw
From “Razor”
14. Cavil Kills and Cavil Spares
From “The Plan”
Featuring Raya Yarbrough, vocals
Music and Lyrics by Bear McCreary
15. The Hybrid Awaits
From “Razor”
16. Kendra and the Hybrid
From “Razor”
17. Princes of the Universe
From “The Plan”
18. Starbuck’s Destiny
From “Razor”
19. Apocalypse (Theme from “The Plan”) [Bonus Live Version]
Performed by The Battlestar Galactica Orchestra

Re: The Plan / Razor soundtrack (pre-order)

BTW, has anyone checked out Dark Void (the video game) or Human Target? Bear's been working on the music for both, and they both kick some serious behind. He's been blogging extensively on that and Caprica's scores.

Human Target in particular has impressed me... he's writing for a 60 piece orchestra on a weekly basis.

Lets just say I'll be getting a LOT of Bear McCreary - both Razor/The Plan and Dark Void soundtracks come out this month.

i'm very happy with what i've heard from dark void and i'll definitely be picking that up. it sounds like a mesh of BSG and caprica and all new material, to me it's almost more appealing than razor and the plan, but i might be alone there.

Nope, right there with you...although to be fair, it probably had more money allocated to the score budget... and a more grand vision of the directors for the music than Razor and The Plan. I'm excited about the BSG soundtrack in its own right though.

I'm excited because it's basically BSG score with big bombastic brass instruments added with an orchestra more than twice the size...

I played the DV demo and saw a trailer or a clip from HT. To be honest, I wasn't really impressed by either. But I think that has more to do with each product than Bear's music which I only had a very, very small chance to sample in either case.

Btw. I placed an order to the "The Plan / Razor" soundtrack. Now all I have to do is manage to wait for three frakkin' weeks .

I was mainly talking about the music... I haven't played Dark Void yet (just heard clips of the music), but give Human Target a chance... the pilot was okay, but the subsequent episodes I thought have gotten better in every way. He's scoring Human Target like a serious hardcore feature film. I'm loving it.
