Re: Who Should Have Left in Season Four?

^^

I think Kate Mulgrew was asked in an interview if she thought J & C would get together...(I forget the answer; IIRC, she said something to the effect it was up to the writers). So, I think J/C was a thought even outside fanfiction....

Furthermore: In the current VOY novels, there is a J/C relationship as well....at least one that Chakotay thought could happened...

Re: Who Should Have Left in Season Four?

Janeway forwardslash Chakotay.

Slash fiction is about unusual and unthought/unthinkable relationSHIPS.

It's also called SHIPping.

I perfectly beleive that Bev and Picard were oldpeopleboning nonstop like rabbits after the episode Attached when he admitted that he loved her because of a telepathic tether which... But I'd rather believe that McCoy shipped with that White Rabbit from the Plastic Pleasure Planet before I think that J forwardslashed C.

Google the words Jake + Nog + gay backrub.

I dare you.

I still don't get why he wouldn't do it with Seven when she ordered him to take his clothes off and begin copulation.

He was wearing his Barney the Dinosaur underwear and he was was embarrassed at the thought of her seeing them. She should have ordered him to do it on a Thursday or Saturday, that's when he wears his Action Man pants.

Most of the inspriation for J/C comes from "Resolutions", I believe, but yeah, aside from - at best - some teasing by the writers, there was basically nothing to this. Janeway's attitude to her crew was mostly aloof and asexual, motherly and paternalistic in general. This is particularly notable in her relationship with Seven, where she's a surrogate mom (which, of course, inspired the ever popular Janeway/Seven ship... the popularity eludes me, personally, but whatever.)

Now Doctor/Seven, that is where it's at. "Someone to Watch Over Me", indeed. I've been the lonesome schmuck working through his frustrations on a piano, so I can sympathise.

I would have gotten rid of Kim by having him succumb to 8472 cells. Also Kes and Neelix needed to go. VOY certainly needed to trim the fat from this show. Too bad they didn't because they ended not using the characters anyway.

Chakotay was an uninteresting character who could have left without too much grief. Kim was another uninteresting character but his friendship with Tom was interesting so I guess it was a good thing he stayed after all.

Re: Who Should Have Left in Season Four?

Everyone's relationship with Tom was interesting.

Tom was the centre of this show around which all things revolved.

Voyager should probably have been called Tom Paris: Space Adventurer!

You and every one imagined J/C. There was no J/C.

It's just fanfiction fodder.

You might as well ask the pope about the importance of the Easter Bunny and Santa to Easter and Christmas.
I think, you`ve watched another Voyager series than I did.
There was no J/C????
What`s about Resolutions? Coda? Hunters.
And what`s about

"three years ago, I didn´t even know your name.
Today I can´t imagine a day without you ..."

from Scorpion?
I could go on and on...

I feel that way about my dog, it doesn't mean he's ravishing me behind closed doors.

EDIT: I just dropped my mug while walking into the kitchen and the handle shattered. I'm very upset by this, I've had that mug for 4 or 5 years and I can't imagine using another mug for my daily 8 mugs of tea. That doesn't mean the mug was ravishing me behind closed doors.

Not to mention the irresponsibility of taking advantage of someone with the emotional development of a 6-8 year old, without being certain that she knew the full implications of what she was doing.

Come to think of it, Harry may have been the most admirable character on the whole darned show - aside from maybe Seven or Naomi Wildman.

Re: Who Should Have Left in Season Four?

He invited a bomb aboard. That's the work of a moron.

And the Seven of Nine thing, it's the about turn I'm amazed with. "I love her, I want her, I love her, I want her, I love her, I want her, I love her, I want her, I love her, I want her... O? I can have you? Well... UM? Now? Right Now? O, sure I want to caress your sweet naked body eventually, but after I get you drunk and take you to the holodeck, no I don't want you in control of how I make love... I must make love how I want to make love! There's a decent and orderly way of doing things which maintain that the man is incharge! Don't scare me! It's my penis not your penis! Leave my penis alone you monster! EEK!~ I'll be running away now."

He had a plan about how to put his penis inside of her and it was very rainman of him to freak out if every step of the journey from clothed to sweaty humping was not observed or deviated in the slightest that he was anything other than he was a big brave man taming unthinking virgin territory.

The instant she thought, or applied input to their relationship destroying his fantasy, he recoiled because it deformed the image of what was in his mind that he wanted under him power snuggling. If she didn't do what he said and acted like he was the white knight/pince charming come to rescue her all demure and appreciative then he didn't want her.

I have to wonder what sort of unicorn loving milksop yutz Kim's AQside girlfriend Libby was?

yeah, but they figured out that it was a bomb only after it was beamed up. come on, there must be 100 episodes in the star trek franchises were some hazardous stuff or people were beamed aboard.

Kes had "Before and After", Harry never had such a good episode and never gave a performance on par with Liens in either "Before and After" or "Warlord".

The reason Kim was terrible is because the actor was terrible for me, the guy just couldn't act.

Overall I found that Kes generally had better episodes and had a better presence.
