^I also would be happy to buy new Trek audio works. I have been tracking down ST audiobooks for several weeks now and have managed to get quite a few in cassette form; and that is just in the local area. I prefer listening to audiobooks when travelling, and have subscribed to satellite radio as well for just that purpose. Very good deals to be found at garage sales and I haven't even started looking on line yet.

^ If you have a portable mp3 player, you can also check out Aubible.com for Trek (and other) audiobooks. They also have a partnership with Zune, which makes getting content for my player even easier.

^ Audiobook wise, I'd passionately advocate for an adaptation of The Good That Men Do... the first novel in Enterprise's relaunch.

Either Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko) or Aron Eisenberg (Nog) providing narration for the 25th Century framework. One or the other.

Connor Trinneer as the voice of Charles 'Trip' Tucker and for a dramatic reading of all his key scenes.

Another ENT cast member describing events not involving Trip, maybe Dominic Keating or John Billingsley... as I'd imagine Scott Bakula wouldn't be remotely affordable and Jolene Blalock not at all interested in voice-over work. Although they would certainly be another audience draw, if they did show interest.

So basically a three-way reading with the actors on rotation to keep it interesting, music scores sampled from the show... (Archer's Theme by Dennis McCarthy for the titles for instance) and sound effects from whatever library exists.

A full-on audio adventure featuring over a dozen reunited cast members is well and truly beyond reach I'd imagine...

Quick off topic question, I was looking around at the Big Finish site the other day, and I noticed that they have the audios available for download. What format do they download in?

MP3 with no DRM, though I don't remember the bitrate. Good quality, though.

Hmm. Interesting comment I just came across from Big Finish's producer-director Nick Briggs in the new issue of their free pdf magazine Vortex (which also features an interview with yours truly)...

"If money, clearances etc were no object, what series would you most like to see on audio?"
"I’d love to do Star Trek in some form or other."
