One of my first memories of being on TrekBBS was some poster who said chess was as violent of a sport as football. How do you top that?

ahhh..Dirk Pitt. I am a big Dirk Pitt fan, and though Sahara was underwelming. If they really did a serious attempt at a Pitt series, I think it would be big...

I found Sahara passable fare, better than a lot of stuff that makes it to the screen. It was't a financial failure either. Sadly, its break even status made the studio gun shy to try again. I'm not even a Matthew McConongh fan but would've likely given another Dirk movie a fair shake to impress me.

I agree..it was okay. I think some of the casting was not so great, B-list supporters. But it wasn't terrible, just expected a better production.
