Re: Stana Katic: Genre babe of the week #42 (Oct. 2009)

If it's who I think it is, she'd done just about enough to qualify, though usually a rom-com girl. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Thumbs up on Stana. Believe it or not I only realized a couple days ago that it was her playing the Canadian agent at the end of Quantum of Solace, even though I've seen that film about 5 times now (so sue me, I like it). The fact she's actually Canadian, too, was cool.

First time I ever noticed her was in The Spirit. I thought her accent came off sounding a bit weird in that film ... then again EVERYTHING came off a bit weird in that film ... but I couldn't complain about seeing Stana in a cop uniform!

I should watch Castle one of these days. But frankly I'm so far removed from mainstream network shows at this point in time I never even knew this show existed until I saw the DVD set in the stores.

My guess is it'll be the young hottie in the film rather than the beautiful and classy actress playing the mom.

Thumbs up! She had some good action shots in Stiletto which was a crap movie, but they played up her looks.

Then why use a photo of the actress playing the mother? At least, I think that's a photo of her in her cheerleading days. On the other hand, she doesn't really have much in the way of "genre" credits to her name, and the "young hottie" (as you so accurately put it ) does -- actually, she has a genre film out now, so maybe it is her.

Eh, I guess we'll find out soon enough. Either way, I'll probably vote thumbs up.

^^^
Turns out it was Sela Ward after all. The fact that she was in the picture is what made me think it wouldn't be her since I thought the clue would be more obscure than that.

Classy and elegant and hot. If you're just noticing her it's because she's finally in a role where she's got chemistry with the other lead, Nathan Fillion. Stana's cleavage shot clearly benefits from some underwire, but overall she's a handsome woman, and children who think 31 is long in the tooth may one day grow up to appreciate her.

Just a head's up, Fouo, if the voting has closed, there's no reason to bump the GBOW threads. Unless you just want to annoy people and bring a premature end to these threads.
