I was molested so many times wearing that costume. And the udders are crotch-high so I when I say "molested" I really mean it.

I've never quite been comfortable around 5' 10" Jamaican women since Halloween 2006.

That seals it, Shameless is going as a cow for Halloween.

The engineering department in my place of work always hosts a Halloween office potluck/party every year, and it's so much fun! One time a group of people dressed up as characters from Gilligan's Island. Astrosmurf gave some great costume suggestions for same-sex couples. I would like to add the Lone Ranger and Tonto to the list.

That is a great idea. But, I'm concerned no one would know who I was without my "Lovie".

I LOVE the Lone Ranger and Tonto idea!!!

I also came up with the UnderDog idea. Actually, that was an early idea because I happen to have a red "union suit" that I thought would be a good foundation (don't ask).

But, I was informed that there aren't a lot of people these days who would know who UnderDog is/was.

My heart wept more than a little bit with that.

And I would like to throw in my opinion about the Titanic costume TrekkieMonster... I don't think it is in poor taste. Enough time has passed that you could get away with it. I also love the sick twist of wearing something like that on a cruise ship. There are rules for such things but I don't think they would apply here. It is kind of you to think about such things. I know some people who wouldn't.

(An example: About ten years ago the drag queens at this bar I used to frequent showed up as the dead stewardesses from a plane that had just recently crashed. They were practically booed off stage when they strolled out in their uniforms covered in blood, missing limbs and charred. The club ended up asking them all to leave. As they were being escorted out one of them wheeled around and screamed, "I don't know what your problem is, bitches. It was just a joke." Most of the bodies hadn't even been recovered yet and they thought people would find it funny? To have that lack of emotional empathy was shocking to say the least. That makes me wonder how many sick fraks are going to show up as Michael Jackson this year.)

And Shameless doesn't need encouragement with what to do with his udders. Let's move along people. Nothing to see here...

I love it tsq! The Mighty Minnie Mouse and your new "sailor" idea are fabulous.
Thanks. I'm thinking the gay sailor would be a cheap costume too. I'll get some second-hand denim swabbies from a thrift shop and a really tight white tee. I've got some red suspenders and the sailor cap. I can draw on some anchor and battleship tatts and chest hair, and then slick my hair back and get a big, bushy moustache. I'm not sure the best way to go about binding the bust, though -- maybe a sports bra that's a few sizes too small?
This is from the year before as Jekyll and Hyde.

I adore this costume! The details are amazing, the hair, the ascot...

When I was 10 I dressed up like a Highlander for trick-or-treating. Well, I had the kilt, and, um, that was it actually. I didn't even have a claymore.

Not exactly the most sophisticated Highland getup at that age, I'll admit - I usually reserve the full Highland regalia for céilidhs, Hogmanay, and the occasional wedding.

I take that as the highest compliment, coming from the king of amazing costumes. And The Hubby likes UnderDog the best because he says it's more of an actual "costume", and he figures we'll see a lot of vampires aboard ship for the same reason I came up with it.

And I would like to throw in my opinion about the Titanic costume TrekkieMonster... I don't think it is in poor taste. Enough time has passed that you could get away with it. And thank you again. I try to be thoughtful in most things. But, I have to admit, along with nearly a century having passed, another reason I don't think the Titanic thing would be an issue is that, on formal nights, one of the "faux backgrounds" the photographers use is that grand staircase from the Movie Titanic. I've always thought that a bit ... odd. But, is sort of where my idea came from.

Wow, yeah. the stewardess thing was a bit ... untimely, to say the least. And I agree with you that there will probably be a lot of Michael Jacksons this year. I remember, when I was in college, the original "Tylanol deaths" occurred right before Halloween that year, and I was at a party where a couple came dressed as a bottle of Tylanol and the Grim Reaper. Sort of funny, but untimely. Especially because we were in Oregon and the original deaths occurred in the Seattle area and we had people in school from that area who knew some of the victims.

So, now I'm leaning toward either UnderDog or the Titanic victim.

Re: Halloween Costume Thread!

Here's my costume from last year. I was Harvey Dent/Two-Face. Made from scratch, which included buying a cheap suit jacket and taking a lighter and spray paint to one side. I went to a night club Halloween night and won $250 and first place in the costume contest. There were quite a few pissed off girls in skimpy "costumes" that night.

This year I might go with another face mutilation costume and go as a Terminator, if I can find a cheap pair of red contact lenses.

This year, I'm going to be dressed as a tourist. I'll be on my way home from a New York trip on Halloween, so no dressing up for me this year. If I'm home in time for trick-or-treaters, I'll just put on my fairy wings when I answer the door.

Here's me in costume in '93- my eyes look weird.

Holy crap!!! That is amazing! The suit and especially the face makeup. How did you do that? Or is that a professional secret?
