Re: What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?
Last night I made something of a cross between pot roast and stew. Cooked a piece of brisket pot roast style for a couple hours, then threw in some stew veggies (carrot, turnip, parsnip, potato, yam, celery) for the last hour or so. Baked up a white acorn squash with brown sugar and raisins to go on the side. It was good. Yesterday was a crappy day here, and it was nice to have the kitchen smells wafting around the house. It also counteracted the dog, who had a horrid case of the toots yesterday. |

I forgot to mention above that I made Teriyaki steak tips last night with a nice iceberg "wedge" salad (accompanied by more home grown veggies) and baked potato (and a few left over frozen "Nathan's" onion rings which -- can I just say -- are pretty damn good.)

Re: What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?
I'm killing time, waiting for my roast leg of pork to finish cooking. It already smells utterly delicious but isn't quite done yet, so I'm desperately trying to distract myself from it while waiting...

Re: What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?
For me, I'm still being extremely careful with my diet. Today I created a tuna salad: Premium white tuna packed in water and drained mixed with finely chopped celery, carrot, onion, and cabbage, a bit of vinegar, sesame oil, pepper, and a few other spices. It was actually really, really good! Very low carb, low fat. I also found a sugar free dark chocolate bar from Godiva at the impulse counter in the grocery store! I'm allowing myself half (no sugar doesn't mean no effect on blood sugar). |
