Indeed, that's why I think it might be better to have a rating on a scale of 1 to 5, or 1 to 10.

Of course, I still enjoy these threads as they are. Quite a bit.

yeah, that's pretty messed up. Then again, this board's demographics make for some intersting choices sometimes. You'd think it would result in 3 thumbs up for anything remotely female, but sometimes the results are just odd.

Honestly, if you're voting "down" or "sideways" on this girl, I'd LOVE to see what you're taking home instead, because she's georgous! And not only that, but has a pretty high degree of the 'could happen/ available girl" obtainability, as opposed to a generic, out of reach supermodel.
Well, that's not the standard I use though. I'm probably "looser" with thumbs-up-votes than most people here (I'm seldom not voting thumbs-up) but even my standard in these polls is not whether or not I'd "hit it", but how the woman in the picture stands up to "Hollywood babe" standards.
I'm almost certain there hasn't been a single "genre babe of the week" that I'd "reject" if I had the choice, and I'd guess that's the case for most people here. But that's not what these polls are about imo.

eta: anyway, some people are peculiar and for example just vote "down" for anyone who's blonde, so don't let the stupidity of TrekBBS get to you...

Has another Rachel (Nichols) ever been a Genre Babe of the Week?

It's almost always the thumbs sideways votes that do them in.
"Thumbs sideways" is so lame anyways. Too wishy-washy.

I like it. As I explain in my posts. Most of the women who I give sideways votes to ARE VERY pretty women but don't meet what I feel is that something special/extra that they need to get a thumbs up vote. They are women I feel are deserving to get to the playoffs as they have that extra something beauty that the others don't.

I've voted thumbs down at times though.

Perhaps Sideways should not count as = to Down?

How drastic would it be Aragorn if Sideways was neutral in the compositing of the scores? Would it drastically inflate too many contenders?

Thanks. I was planning to see her latest film (G.I. Joe), and thought she might have attracted the attention of the Genre Babemeister before.

Way up from me. She's super cute and from reading some interviews with her she's really down to earth and normal. She's got dome website with two of her friends, I don't recall if its organic food or something along those lines of health/nature stuff.

I really don't put that much thought into it. If I find them attractive, I vote Up. If I don't, I vote Down.

I'm not familiar with her work, but she is adorable in those pics, so she gets a Thumbs Up.

She doesn't seem to like bikinis, though.

I agree that she would make a fine Sue Storm. Too bad nu Sherlock Holmes looks like a big suckeroo, though....

Sideways. She has a very pretty face, but she needs some curves. She has the body of a teenage boy.

Aragorn, is there a certain number of women who need to be in the playoffs, or is it just anyone who gets higher than... what, 75%? 80%?
Top 16... unless some of those 16 have very few votes (since that makes their percentages skewed), then I invoke my fuzzy math.

Can we get a "if the playoffs started today" update in a separate thread maybe?? Kinda like they do on Sports Center for the playoffs...
If the playoffs started today...

Amy Adams
Lynda Carter
Jennifer Connelly
Eliza Dushku
Anna Friel
Carla Gugino
Scarlett Johansson
Lucy Lawless
Josie Maran
Rachel McAdams
Jennifer Morrison
Amanda Righetti
Emmy Rossum
Jeri Ryan
Zoe Saldana
Olivia Wilde

I suspect that at least two won't make it, maybe three.

Last year Leslie Bibb was just over 47%. If the sidways vote didn't count, she'd be at 82%.

There was a debate for how the ratings system would work during year one in 2006, but most people just liked it the way it is. You look at the poll, see what the percentage of thumbs up votes are, and that's the rating. Very simple.

I found one bikini pic of her, but since she was only wearing half of a bikini, the mods probably wouldn't like it being posted here.
