Quite readily available here in Britain what with our sizeable Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Sri Lankan populations.

Maybe I will try that next time I go to London

I'm jealous of that. In the whole time I've lived in this area, we had one Indian store open. It shut down about two years later. I have to drive half an hour to get to the nearest Indian restaurant, and about an hour for the rest.

Yes, that first one I had last night was spice lacking somehow; the others were much richer. Probably my rough mixing was to blame. I did about even volumes of potatoes and peas, with some white onion too, and it seemed about right. Maybe more onion if anything. Flavours were chilli, cayenne pepper, paprika, coriander, thyme, salt, and I think that was it. The hardest part was folding them into roughly pyramidal shapes without them falling to bits.

I could get used to this asian cooking thing though. I wonder what I should try next.

We tend to go a little vegetable-crazy when all the summer produce suddenly comes into season - so much so that we'll sometimes skip the meat. We love meat, but there just isn't room for it with all these great vegetables, and you can get great meat year round - no so with local veggies. So last night we had FABulous sweet corn with butter - it was so juicy and tender that you didn't really have to cook it, just warm it up enough that the butter melted; sliced tomatoes from a friend's garden; sliced cucumbers from the farmers' market; and green beans from our garden with bacon. So I guess we didn't entirely skip meat - I mean, there was bacon...

I did a raw food thing. Collard vegi rolls with Asian spiced sunflower seed carrot spread with some guacamole and then carob almonds( not raw). A few sips of grape kombucha as well.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with a spicy roasted garlic aioli

Mmmmmm. Took my fiancee out to our favorite restaurant last night, it was delicious as usual.
