Atlantis - Complete Series Set

Not that this is too surprising, but TVShowsOnDVD.com is reporting that a series set for Stargate: Atlantis is set for release on Oct. 6th.

No word on any extras, but the site does have a picture of the packaging. From a personal point of view, after the really cool SG-1 complete series packaging, this one is a bit of a let down.

Yeah, what else is funny is the price. Let's see ... Five seasons in total. Seasons one through four are available at Best Buy for 20 bucks each. That's 80 bucks. Season 5 is 35 bucks. Add that to the previous ones, and it's 115 total for the series. OR we can buy the box set for 200 bucks, and that is the discounted price. Hmmm, whatever should we do?

Sarcasm aside, yeah, it does seem pretty pricey.

Then again, SG-1 box set was on the pricey side compared to buying the individual sets. So, this really is no surprise.

Ugly white box...

I know the box doesn't really matter, but sheesh that is ugly.

I was surprised at that too. I know the picture isn't the best, but it does seem really plain. I usually don't mind the "plain and simple" DVD art, but this just seems below par based on previous Stargate packaging.

The SG-1 complete series box was, I thought, awesome looking with the raised gate and the gold, Egyptian-style box.

It is a shame that Atlantis didn't copy that design, but give it an Atlantis twist (Pegasus gate with maybe a blueish, Ancient inspired box).

I like the white packaging a lot personally.

I'd have zoomed out from the chevron just slightly though and shown a bit of the gate.
