Re: Lynda Carter: Genre babe of the week #25 (June 2009)

In case anyone has forgotten, I won the December Madness competition, and as a prize, I got to pick three genre babes. I thought it would be nice to see at least one iconic actress get a shot and I decided to go with Lynda Carter. Here she is in the role she's best known for... Wonder Woman.

No brainer, thumbs down.

She is still quite doable.

One of the hottest women...ever! She gave me all kinds of tingly feelings as a kid in the 70's. I had no idea what they were but I liked 'em!

You know what? Even though she's older than my mother, I'm gonna go with a thumbs up. I'll just pretend that it's thirty years ago. I find the late-70s Lynda Carter very beautiful -- heck, even today, she still looks pretty damn good. So while she may not be a current object of my desire, I can see the appeal.

Oh grow up will you? She was damn hot in the day and that has to count for something. Thumbs-up.

Well, I like the idea of Retro Babes, but I never cared for Lynda Carter; too stacked for my taste and I didn't find her very pretty. I must go with Thumbs Down.

Thumbs up from me, definitely.

The only problem I have is the number of people who view her during her Wonder Woman days as some sort of icon and think that dressing up like her is a good idea. Listen people, she's an extremely beautiful woman, you are not.

Not that I have any problem with extremely beautiful women dressing up as superheroines.

This is very true. I got curious about homemade Wonder Woman costumes and did some Googling. There are some pretty bad examples out there but I was pretty impressed by this one.

Note the choice of model for the costume. Unless I am very much mistaken, that is not a 40-something, overweight gay guy.
