So... wait. You don't dislike the movie because it's bad. You dislike it because it's a reboot? Ok.

I'm sorry you didn't like the movie. I thought it rocked from start to finish. Amazing job all-around by the writers, actors, director, and special effects peeps.

Oh, yeah baby! Trek is back!
Five out of Five Stars!

WOOOOOOOO!

Our theater was packed, and at the end everyone stood up and cheered!
I'm going to go back at least a couple more times. I loved it from beginning to end, the story, the visuals, the acting, the dialog, hell that was a lot of fun!

I'm actually suprised that more people don't feel the same way.
You're surprised that some people care more about the story than they do some geeky fictional timeline? "But, we fought WWIII in the 1990s! We really did!" Nonsense. It's been almost half a century. It's time for a reboot. You want to keep Star Trek relevent, don't you?

Now if you have criticisms of the story, that's another thing. But you can't enjoy a movie because it does fit with the fictional timeline that exists nowhere except in your head? That's nonsense.

They should never permit a non-Trek fan to make a Trek movie. Abrams has destroyed, figuratively and literally, the Trek Universe. He destroyed Vulcan!
Actually, Abrams didn't destroy Vulcan. The writers, both of whom were Trekkies, destroyed Vulcan. Abrams just helped make it look good.

This was clearly - and marketed - to be a Trek series for nonfans.
That completely depends on your definition of 'fans'. In my eyes, fans of a certain franchise certainly aren't anal about the franchise, simply passionate -- up until a point. Trek, unfortunately, has a history of a larger-then-regular part of 'whine-a-lots' instead of loyal fans.

I thought the actors were great (except Kirk). I thought the effects were great. The props were great. It was funny. I did not like the story too much. I did not like the fact that it was a meaningless action flick. Againt, I thought the story was very weak. But it was a decent movie for what it is ... an action flick in space.

I reject it because it was a re-boot. Yes.

INDEED! Let's hope it does well at the box-office so we can get Star Trek II the wrath of kahn's Liver spots!

I think she was the Orion that Kirk was banging.
No, that was Rachel Nichols, aka Scarlett in the upcoming GI Joe movie.

Don't mean to pick a fight.
Just feel that it was not necessary to destroy fourty years of Trek to make a great Trek movie.
But them's fightin' words!

S'okay, you're definitely entitled to your opinion.
