I'm almost positive that Ana Lucia was killed off before the incident and they'd have to get rid of every one on the cast for indiscretions if they got rid of her.

I'm sure it's just an amazing coincidence some fans either read too much into or are having fun with. The actors who played Mr. Eko and Libby also got DUIs in HI and had their chracters killed off.
