Was Kara's surgery ever addressed?

While held on the "farm" on Caprica, the Cylons performed some sort of surgery on her, apparently related to their experiments on the reproductive cycle.

Was it ever specified what they did to her?

Nope, they dropped it like a stone.

I believe they removed an ovary. Or at least that was the impression I got.

Apparently, they extracted one of her ovaries (or, at the very least, some ova out of one of them). Leoban said they used them to make Kacey when he was playing house with Starbuck on New Caprica, but since that was a lie, it's likely the samples are just sitting in a jar somewhere with a bunch of other failed experiments in human/cylon cross-breeding.

We call this a red herring, it may or may not have been intended as such when it was first done a bit like that rabbit hole with #7. though its also implied the Cylons were somehow aware that Kara was special which they likely learned via their hybrids.

The payoff was the New Caprica Kacey story

Didn't Kara and/or the resistance torch the farm?

Don't forget, we still have The Plan to watch. Maybe it's not been forgotten at all, just left for it's own story.
