Romulans Or Remans? (May Be Spoilers?)

I'm confused, the Romulans look like Remans, are they Remans or Romulans??? Is this to tie the movie to Nemesis???

nero very much looks more like a romulan who for some reason did a job on his ears.
but while i didnt notice he might have remans among his crew.

There is clearly no similarity between Nero and a Reman. However, Nero does look a hell of a lot like Shinzon.

Nero's a conventional Romulan, albeit bald with scalp and facial tattoos. If he were Reman he'd be much more alien-looking and hideous. This doesn't mean there won't be a passing reference to Remus and the Remans in XI since both homeworlds perish in the tragedy that causes Nero to try to change history.
