Not to me. But then, I wasn't watching for answers.

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x18: "Islanded in a Stream of Stars"

The writers don't seem to realize that repeatedly having Tighe speaking about how upset he is over his baby's death doesn't make a tragedy that failed to resonate two episodes ago any more impactful on the third or fourth time. I'm thinking "this has all happened before and will happen again" is the writers' mantra. I thought hooking up Anders might reveal new intriguing information. No we learn for the third or so time Starbuck is the harbinger of death. We see the Opera House visions but nothing new is added just the same chase sequence. I could have done without the roadtrip confessional onbard the stolen raptor between Boomer and Hera. I would have much rather jumped straight to the colony in order to spare us the insight we already heard last week but of course we can't reach it until the end of the series because the writers don't have enough material. Meh. We see HeadSix but she doesn't provide anything interesting--she's just a model sporting the latest in gowns. This was what her fourth appearance this season and nothing has been done with her to contribute in furthering the story. This show is in some serious need of some storytelling viagra because it is flaccid.

Funeral service did nothing for me. Meh.

Adama wouldn't let Helo take a raptor to look for Hera yet he remained behind in one to wait for Roslin. Hypocritical.

No surprise that the only things, however sparse they were, that generated the least bit of interest on my behalf were tied to the show's intriguing mythology. But I do mean they were sparse.

Once again the only reason for this episode to exist was to fill another episode slot as part of a ten episode season and to impart a few bits of teasing and set up. Nothing significant about Starbuck, her father, the Opera House, the Opera House vision, the Final Five and the mysterious entities that warned them of the attack etc. Maybe I should just watch the final five minutes of the show from now on. The final scene has been one of the few that has generated any sort of sense of melancholy appropriate for a show ending its run. I like the idea of Adama letting go.

The visual effects shot of Boomer arriving at the colony was FANTASTIC and imaginative and awe-inspiring but the rest of the episode M-E-H!

Below average with a few and I mean few above average moments.

Weird, but good. Definitely feel like it's the end of the series. It feels like an intro to the finale, so I'm not sure I can give it an accurate rating without seeing the final eps.

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x18: "Islanded in a Stream of Stars"

Average Episode for BSG, very good, I'm saving my Excellent for the finale

Sounds like Adama is gonna take the Galactica for one last fight.

Balta is an ass, but in the end might have done Kara a favor, at least it is out in the open now, and she doesn't have to hide, its a load off her shoulders, as she said, she has accepted it now.

I am interested to see where the song takes them.

I wonder what Cavil's gonna do with Hera onboard V'ger. Sounded like he was gonna make copies of her.

Below average.

Most episodes are over before I know it; this one seemed to last two hours. Nothing of significance happened.

It does make it worthless to me but I'm not the least bit concerned that all the outstanding questions on BSG won't be answered. I think the writers have earned my trust that they will based on their track record.

This has nothing to do with BSG but a series in general--an interesting mythology is not a required element for a series to be good however if the writers introduce questions and mysteries that the viewers take the time to invest in and reflect on it is absolutely incumbent upon them to not only answer them but to do so in a way that is satisfying and consistent with the tapestry of that mythology. If writers don't want to be burdened with it, then just don't go there and simply be a character-driven drama with no mythology.

Average. Not bad. But nothing great. No cohesiveness like last episode.

Where was Tyrol and who was that filling in for him? Unless I see him again I'm going to assume Helo and Athena killed him and destroyed the corpse.

Ship captains are better than the flakes in the Quorum.

I don't have a problem with Baltar saying anything. I mean it's kind of important information people should know. People on this show never talk to each other and compare notes. So, the simple 'mysteries' get stretched out to whole seasons. It's like these guys have some sort of anticuriosity/knowledge aversion.

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x18: "Islanded in a Stream of Stars"

Was it that hard to discern that this episode was all about acceptance? Acceptance of who these people are, acceptance of loss, acceptance between human and Cylon.

Although I don't think it was perfect, most of it worked very well and I thought it was poignant without being overly grim (for BSG, that is).

wow, ANOTHER yawner this close to the end. The only interesting things were seeing the colony and hearing ellen talk about their past life for 2 seconds. Major fail.

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x18: "Islanded in a Stream of Stars"

Sigh, like I said before. Some people may say this was filler like the previous episode, but neither were filler! The characters have to come to realize their decisions. You just can't have action, action, action. You have to get there somehow. This explained how Adama came to that realization. It was just as important as the others, perhaps moreso.

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x18: "Islanded in a Stream of Stars"

Did anyone else laugh out loud at the bathroom scene, when Kara was on the toilet, and Baltar was shaving. I did, when she said "the latch was broken" and then you heard the sound of her taking a whizz, I LOL'd!
