I love Ackles, however I just got back from seeing My Bloody Valentine (had an hour to kill at the mall)... oh... my... God.

It was so aggressively stupid.
Ah, it was just a "leave your brain at the door" slasher flick. There are plenty worse, although it pales next to the original.

They shouldn't have tried the "twist," though. It created too many plot holes.

Nothing wrong with "leave your brain at the door" slashers, I enjoyed the Scream movies, but this wasn't even exciting. It was also fairly obvious who the killer was far too early on.

I went in with low expectations and literally left the theater in a hurry, cap pulled low because I was so embarrassed
Well, if you count the Scream films as "brain at the door" slashers, I'm not surprised you were disappointed.

To each his own, though. It was pretty much what I expected from it, though there could have been more 3D gags. It was also fun to see Tom Atkins hamming it up.

The "twist" at the end could have gone either way, and while the way they went is more daring than the alternative, I don't think it was really the best way to go. (I think that's vague enough to avoid spoiler code.)

All that said, there's not much point to getting it on DVD without the DVD; not since the original has a spiffy new special edition.

Re: Jensen Ackles

Having just seen Friday the 13th, I have to take back my comment about Padalecki being a caeman. More like a sexy caveman.

Padalecki is scrumptious. He's got a great smile and a spectacular body. Very chiseled. Nice back. I know this because of Sam nailing the good lady doctor in the last episode of Supernatural.

Re: Jensen Ackles

Yep. And for some reason, he didn't annoy me like he did in 'House of Wax,' the first time I saw him. That colored my perception of him until now. Has he ever had short hair? I think he'd look excellent with short hair.

Re: Jensen Ackles

He had short hair on "Gilmore Girls." The show where Rory Gilmore chose Jess/Peter Petrelli over Dean Forrester/Jared because Jess was supposed to be the "sexy one" while Dean was the bland nice guy.

Re: Jensen Ackles

Nope. It's understandable, though. Padalecki grew up to be so much scrawnier than Ventimiglia. Look at him. He's so feminine and petite. No wonder Rory went running to sexy, manly Jess instead of him.

On set. The "best friends" pic. It's adorable that they really are.

And back to the singular subject matter of the thread....Ackles really does remind me of a young Newman.

I'm just catching up with season 4. So far I've seen the first 3 episodes. What's struck me is how he's really become a man in his looks. Until now, I think there's been a boyishness about him, but now there's a real manliness. I like.
